BANDAI Mazinger Z (Mechacolle, 2001) build thread

    Hey everyone,
Thought I'd post this here. Just wanted to show this sweet kit. Girlfriend's away, and so I thought I'd give this lovely kit a try. Had a great time building it! It's mostly a snap on, and though it's made of plastic, rubber, and very little metal (screws) I can tell you this is high-end stuff. The building process was not a problem, since I have been dealing with Tamiya kits for decades now. But Mazinger Z... now that's something else. One of my childhood's favorite series.
Hope this will be nice to some fellow fans of the series.
You all have a great weekend!

    Gotta love these little parts!

And here's the figure taking shape. It's awesome, as it can hold almost any pose you want. Basically, you can relive the series up there in your shelf!

    Standing on one foot!

With the flying device mounted, so he can destroy Garada K-7! Ha ha.

I would highly recommend this kit to anybody interested in these collectibles. Any flaws? One mayor problem was to the find Mazinger Z's right "horn" missing from the parts-tree. I opened the sealed container, and it just wasn't there! We'll see what we can do about it later.

Nice kit. I dig the Hover Pilder.

Very neat. I'd like to get a kit or two just like that! Not right away though as I am busy bringing life back into my Shogun Warriors.

I sold that to you didn't I? Glad he found a good home if so.

Thank you all for the positive comments. Again, these kits are awesome. If you're into the old Japanese robot series, then these are definitely a must.
@thunderbolt: Yep, this was the kit! The Christmas present I got for myself.

Pretty cool! I've always been fascinated with Ban Dai toys. Their construction is always unique by most standards. Nice pics!

Your girlfriend should go out more often...

Nice work! Cutting a new horn shouldn't be all that hard...

You have the patience I wish I had.

No way could I sit still long enough to build a kit like that, no matter how much I wanted to. I'm always in awe of folks that can.

Ha ha. Tell you what. Even though I'm used to deal with rather complex Tamiya RC kits, I was upset enough about stuff that and thought about building this kit as a way to relax. No kidding, ha ha. Took me some time between three or four hours!

That's a great kit. I should pick one up, I remember building some Bandai Gundam models several years back and that was a lot of fun. And IMO Mazinger Z is waaaay cooler than Gundam, so this would be even better!
