    Possible 1/6 Conan coming!

I'm theorizing here, but Kaustic Plastik is coming out with an yet-unnamed fantasy figure, and judging from this picture and a few comments on the Sideshow Freaks board, I think it's possible it might be a Momoa version of Conan or Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones (I see a hint of goatee there). At the very least, we'll be getting the that head and body set to use in our own customs. The head is said by KP to be a cross between Hot Toys' Thor and T-800, but with the eyebrow scar and such, I believe it's actually supposed to be Momoa.

I don't know how familiar you guys are with Kaustic Plastic, but the quality of the figures are very similar to Hot Toys, but about half the price. In fact, they make they best nude base bodies for customs out there, IMO. About $35 or so in US dollars, w/ the head about $45. Not bad!

At any rate, I might be mistaken, but I don't think so, and I know some of you would be interested in a 1/6 Conan, even if you weren't thrilled with the new film.

The 1/6 muscular body for customizing is finally becoming available at a more reasonable cost. There are a few customs (like a Snake Plissken) I've put on hold until a decent body became available.
Looking forward to a Conan, too. I liked the look of the new Conan, so this could be good...

The new muscle body's being released with a different head, but on OSW the main guy at Kaustic did refer to the head I posted a link to as "Mamoa" and said it was being used in a future project. Adding this to the secret fantasy license they're working on getting, and I think we might be able to buy a 1/6 scale Mamoa Conan in 2012.

Of course, I could be adding 2 and 2 and getting five, but it sounds possible and I couldn't be happier.

EDIT: In my earlier post, I said the head was supposed to be a cross between Hot Toys' Thor and T-800. I misread. On closer inspection, they were talking about the size of the body.

Wow! Never heard of this site. Looks fantastic. I see where you can order them through Cotswold. Cool! Thanks for the head sup! This is amazing!

You can also get them from Monkey Depot and Big Bad Toy Store. I think there are a couple other places, too.

I'm thinking about buying the big body from ACI and the skinnier Kaustic for the head and doing a head swap to kitbash a 1/6 Tarzan.

That new muscle body would make a better fit than what Hot Toys offered for their Superman. Hmmmm. I think I'll get that one. Thanks!!!

I dunno----the musculature on the body looks okay, but from this shot....

...the neck seems a little elongated and looks, to me, unnatural....

And now that I'm looking at it again, I think whomever sculpted it may've been strongly influenced by the "teeny tiny" ankle rage of the 90's in comics. I've seen little old ladies with beefier ankles than those!!!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

The ankles are one of the main reasons I want to go w/ the ACI body for a Tarzan (the head on the pic you posted, emeraldknight, is the one I want to use--looks suitable to me!), since he'll be bare-footed. They wouldn't bother me if the dude was wearing boots. I hear Kaustic's joints are super-tight, although judging from some of the pics I'd assume the ankles weren't. That's not what I hear, though!

EDIT: The feet and head from the HT Reeve Supes should work fine w/ it, too--Kaustic makes their stuff so it's swappable with HT. Hands swap, arms swap, etc., so you can mix and match however you like.

You have to remember with the Hot Toys heads, they are cut just under the chin and ear so the neck goes up and into the head. The head pictured here isn't cut that way. You actually see the start of a neck on that head so the ball joint connects higher up. On Hot Toys heads, the ball joint connects deep inside the head. You might say the ball joint is their brain. So they would fit nice and snug on this body and register in scale.

I guess part of my problem with it is that, to me, the head looks too small for the body. Of course, the face also seems to possess a striking resemblance to Tobey Maquire, too....!

I really wish you hadn't said that, man! I never saw that at all, and now I can't not see it.

Just reviving the thread for a minute for those 1/6 fans that might be interested--I got the Kaustic Plastik Realistik Muscle Body KP01A figure from Costwold today, and it's actually quite impressive. This is the skinner figure, but the head sculpt is every bit as good as any I've seen from Hot Toys...very realistic sculpt and paint apps. Eyes as real as the Reeve Supes or Keaton Batman. I'm going to e-mail Fabio from Kaustic and try to convince him to start making some extra heads with unique sculpts. The head it came with I'm using on an ACI Andrew 1.1, but it's too good of a body to just discard. I think I'm going to have to grab a HT Taylor Kitsch head from their True Type TTM-14 figure to slap on it for a John Carter custom, if HT doesn't announce an official one soon. Also, don't be afraid of the wonky-looking ankles, especially if they're in boots or shoes--they're extremely sturdy and are designed the way the are for even more poseability. In fact, I've never seen feet than could move or angle like these. Anyway, if any of you guys customize your own 1/6 figures, I can't recommend Kaustic Plastik figures enough.
