Most of these characters should have been released years ago. Mattel continued to try and stretch the JLU line out when they knew it was dying a slow death. Instead of giving people what they wanted, they gave us stuff we didn't.

Now after giving us the "last" of the line, they pull out a bunch of the highly requested figures and want to charge $50 a pop? No wonder I gave up on JLU a year ago.

I already have multiples of WW, Batman, Superman, & Aquaman, so I'd be paying $50 for one figure and the rest of the figures in the 3 pack would end up in a box of assorted spare figures. No thanks.

        Hmmmm....

They're neat, but they're kinda simple.... the sort of thing that'd make a great impulse buy. Unfortunately they're going the other way.

Let me see, 50 bucks for 3 small figures that really should sell for about under $5.00 bucks. Now lets consider this, why is the line not selling well? could it be because the figures were not readily availiable to all fans/collectors. could it be cause, comic stores charge up to 15 dollars for the regular figures and more for the rarer ones ?, and forget the cons to high priced there. Could it be because, they kept repacking the same figures over and over and over? Could it be because, they forced us to get one or two repeat figure just to get one or two new figure when they did a 3 pack? and now you want us to pay 50 bucks for a 3 pack? I say do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for the JLU figures :O(
As for 50 bucks for new retro megos, to hight as well for one figure. They were not well made, and the bodies sucked.
Question, What would they go with the tax added and their super overpriced shipping charges? 70 bucks? or maybe more. They brought this upon them selves by ignoring the buyers pleas.
            What do you all think?

Ok, so there's only one pack that has 3 all-new figures? And Matty is asking customers to pay the same price for one new figure + 2 repacks? If they need to repack figures, why not some of the older animated figures from the Batman animated series that are hard to get? Some of the Bat characters they've done are the same, so I'm assuming they have the molds.

...the customer base just is not large enough (despite being very passionate!)...
Mattel must have a pre-recorded excuse list because they said the same thing about Retro-Action. You fans are so passionate but there's not enough of you out there willing to sacrifice your hard earned cash to pay for overpriced, needless re-releases, packed with too-few new characters.

Read the comments after that article? The public seems to have a general and overwhelming concensus; %99 say Mattel is inept and incapable of managing a toy line-even one that should be successful without a weekly TV series like JLU. Coincidentally, nearly the same percent say the same thing here on the Mego Museum boards. Mattel just isn't listening and their problems remain the same.

Miraculously, Mattel manages two of the longest lasting brands in toys; Barbie and Hot Wheels. And somehow they manage to get product into the hands of consumers.

Although, according to my wife, they are now "selling out" of Barbies on Barbie Collector.com now, only to have them reappear a few months later. Sound familiar?

I don't think I could pay $50 for 3 figures (only one of which is new) that can't even stand up by themselves without the aid of a stand or a mountain of sticky tack.

I have paid the way overpriced cost for several JLU sets from Matty (even dropping 20 plus shipping for the JSA 3 pack on oct 15th to have them sell it for 12, 2 weeks later) but the same problem comes in the last wave of 3 packs they put 1 new and 2 reissues (heatwave flash and mirror master) and it was bad enough at 15.00 a 3 pack but for 20 I want 3 new figs. They should have done what they did with MOTU and ghostbusters a pre order subscription system. There are plenty of people who are willing to shell out $ for JLU but not for the same ones we've been getting forever. They could issue them in singles at 10.00 each on a single card with no problem if they botherd to put out the ones people actually want

JLU went from being something I collected, to something I collected with my son. He plays with everything, SDCC exclusives, hard to get characters, all in his toy box.

Thanks to the big sale Matty has, this will be the 6th year in a row that we've had JLU under the tree and sadly the last.

                        I can't justify $16 a figure and if I gave him $50, he'd buy lego.

^Smart kid. My son will get the JSA 3-pack, but that's probably it.

If these are the extremes they "must" go to, then just put the nails in the coffin and lets move on.

I went nuts and got him the JSA, Stripe and the Animal Man 3 pack. I'm including a note from Santa that Animal Man goes to dad.
