One of my Modern Day figure grails...

Won one of the figures that is on my list of Modern Day Action figure grails for me:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

There were 1 case of each "504" figure sold about 3 months ago on Ebay. Each case held 12 "504" figures. I figured out how much this figure may have cost the buyer after shipping and it came out to about $39. If the buyer of the case was the seller in the auction I won...they didn't really make a whole lot on the figure.

I loved the Ultraforce line...it's a shame that the villains never came out in Wave 2. I would have loved to have seen Ruin and Lord Pumpkin. There are prototypes out there that were shot for Lee's or Tomarts. Anyone have a lead on those painted proto's let me know.

BTW, if anyone here has any of the "504" figures let me know...I am interested in them. Below is a list of the number of the figure and how many were produced.

    0 Prime 3600
    1 Prime
    2 Prototype
    3 Hardcase
    4 Atalon
    5 All-American Prime 5000
    6 Ghoul
    7 NM-E
    8 Topaz
    9 Night Man
    10 NM-E 5000
    11 Night Strike Prime 5000
    12 Polar Prime 3600
    13 Solar Prototype 504
    14 Radiation Hardcase 504
    15 Hardcase 5000
    16 Red Slayer NM-E 5000
    17 Blue Steel NM-E 504
18 Shadowfire The Night Man 3600
    19 Queen Topaz 504
    20 The Night Man 5000
21 Desert Heat The Night Man 504
    22 Rune n/a

Congrats, I gotta admit I was clueless when these figures came out.

I've recently gone back to rediscover a few titles... Prime has a definite charm to him as a 90's reimagining of Captain Marvel and in my opinion Ultraforce has some of Perez's best work of his career... Particularly when he was paired with Warren Ellis scripts.

It's a shame that Marvel can't/won't exploit this library of characters.

Given how low on the radar these figures are, it's probably a great time to find and collect them... I have no doubt that they will only get harder to find in the future. I've noticed that there are some fan sites out there by people who did read these comics as kids/teens.

I picked up Prime back in the day--still have him--and it was a great looking figure for the time it came out.

I was waiting for Sludge and Lord Pumpkin for so long, and cancellation!! I loved the sludge comic, and knew one of the real life characters from the book.

I gotta start checkin' on a regular basis...2 of the "504" figures in this lot. It says the figure were opened...still 2 in one lot is unheard of. Queen Topaz and Radiation Hardcase are the 2 "504" figures:
