Is the only difference between this Batman Beyond and the original his non-shiny finish?

Lackluster offering for sure. Where's Jay Garrick?

After reading the whole article, I understand that these will be the retail figures and not the sub figures... Supposedly the retail figs will complement the sub figs... Ah, whatever...

I already have Batman Beyond (with mask and without) and the SDCC Plastic Man. I have no need for the other two, but the orange guy is kinda cool.

Yeah,my understanding of the article is that these are the new rebranding of DC's 6-inch line that will be in stores.

Follow's some logic: with figures associated with Green Lantern, Superman, Flash and Batman. The could fill out the assortment with two or four or DC's top 5 characters (Batman Superman GL,Flash and Wonder Woman) to keep them on the shelf.

From the character selection, it appears DCUC was headed this way prior to DC's decision to relaunch. I've read that it takes anywhere from a year to 18 months to run a figure through Mattel's pipeline.

But like others, those figures really don't excite me. I'll get a Lar Fleeze, but beyond him I don't know. Not a huge fan of Prime, Batman Beyond and certainly not that version of Plas.

I'm more interested in finishing off the JSA, Doom Patrol, Metal Men, New Gods and original Teen Titans and villains. Wouldn't mind a Zatanna in her 70s/80s outfit. That's why I went with the subscription with Matty collector. I know all those teams won't be finished, but maybe some will. Heck, maybe they will re-offer the Leginon set as singles.

I would dearly love for Superman to become popular enough for a Superman Legacies line, like Mattel is doing for Batman to get several more 60s and 70s villains. But, that's a pipe dream. Definitely need a Mxy to go with Batmite. Heck I wouldn't mind a Golden-age/Silver-age two-pack of the character.
