I like that the figure comes with Krypto and is meant for the little ones but I don't care for the lack of red trunks ala the new revamp...

That figure actually predates the revamp. Those figures were out at TRU last year, and now they are showing up everywhere. I don't know if it's coincidence, or they based them on upcoming designs, but three are striking similarities.
