    DC Hero World toys

    Anybody collecting these?

DC Super Friends Toys From Fisher Price

They used to be TRU exclusive but I've been seeing them starting to show up at Walmart and Target.

I think it's cool there are actually vehicles in the line. It always kinda irks me Mattel claims they can't do vehicles and playsets for their DC lines and yet they obviously do in their Fisher Price ones. The Infinite Heroes figures were smaller than the Hero World figures but that line didn't even get a Batmobile.

These are what I was referring to, actually, in an earlier thread. I've been scouring shelves looking for Batman, Supes and GL (and wondering WHY they would leave out one of the DC Trinity---Wonder Woman) to no avail. I don;t believe these are being snapped up by little kids, either; I think they're being snapped up by collectors because they are something kinda unique to the super-hero genre. The MARVEL line from, I think, Playschool, is already depleted here; all I can find is a bunch of Star Wars figures (which, if I had a lot of disposable income, would gladly buy, douse in kerosene and set on fire)....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

That does irritate me. GL's jet would be an easy re-use for Wondy's invisible jet too.

I thought the same thing and they had a red clear plane, like the GL one at TRU for Robin? but no Wonder Woman! I'm hoping they wise up and do the Invisible Jet with Wonder Woman soon.

These are a bit more "mature" than the original chunky Super Friends figures from a few years back. I kind of like them. But I did notice something odd about them. Superman and Batman showed up last year with no trunks, and a lot of extra armor like details. Now GL does the same. And they throw in Cyborg. Could this be the test pattern for the DCnU?

My son is tempted by these, but at age 9 feels a bit weird about wanting to play with them. He does like that 4x4 scissor action Batmobile though.

Yeah, these are more like regular action figures in style and scale. I like them but haven't gotten any yet. I especially like the transforming Batcycle with 1989 movie looking Batman. Kind of reminds of the Toy Biz Batman figure.

I haven't seen the Cyborg figure. I didn't even know there was one.

I broke down and picked up the Hero World Batman and Joker tonight. They are a bit bulky and have oversized hands and feet but are not cute or baby-ish looking like the other Mattel FP DC lines. Kind of an old school action figure charm about them with their action features and accessories. Probably gonna grab Freeze and the Penguin this weekend.

I wish Mattel could find a happy medium in the DCUC style with sculpts and play value. Like the 2003 Batman line that became DC Super Heroes and then finally DCUC. That line had a nice mix of fun gimmicks and modern sculpts. Too bad the horrid case pack outs killed it. I also miss the fabric capes.
