    Wal-Mart reset observations

So I guess now is the time of year most retail chains begin their Christmas resets. Our Wal-Mart has been working on it for a few weeks, but it looks like the pegs are set now. The result is there is more stuff crammed in the clearance section than throughout the toy department!

As far as comic-based lines, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Green Lantern have peg space. Each line has been thinned out though. Deluxe figures and multi-packs are now clearanced. Marvel Universe and DCUC are gone. The remaining figures are also in the clearance aisle.

So it looks like if you are a super hero and don't have a movie tie-in you are SOL. It surprises me that they kept Iron Man on the pegs since I don't think they've hardly sold any figures since last Christmas. Maybe they are holding the space for Avengers figures?

Ours is doing the same rest and have full pegs of DCUC, DCUC Crime Syndicate set, Batman Legacy Wave 2, DC Heroes in Action, Young Justice (both sizes), new Marvel Universe figures and sets (the Avengers set is cool, the Fantastic Four set with HERBIE is not) and the Thundercats lines. Don't know why yours doesn't Chris.

The only issue I have is the DCUC figures are not from the waves I need (Wave 16, 17 and 18)

My Walmart has a New Endcap filled with Young Justice 4inchers and Batman Legacy Wave 1. The Batman figure is sold out, and Multiple Joker's and Freeze figures ( all crushed or damaged in 1 way or the other) remain. Also DCU 2-packs were clearanced..., but Wave 14's few still remain.

I've been to several Wal-Marts in my area in the last few weeks, and I have yet to see the fabled DC endcap.

Of the four Walmarts I've checked none got the DC end cap. Only one Walmart had the exclusive 5 pack and other than that the only DCUC figures they had were tons of wave 14 from last year. Lots of Kamandi. Two Walmarts had Thundercats, which seem to be selling very well, and the other two didn't even have a space for them yet.

^I stopped by a K-Mart this weekend and they had some new Joes (new to me anyway). Beachhead, Iron Grenadier, Crazy Legs, Cobra Viper, a new Snake Eyes, and a few others. They looked like a continuation of the 25th anniversary figures. Very nice!

That's the one I saw. Never saw it before. Saw it again at another Wal-Mart along with Recondo and a few others I hadn't seen before.

I also saw the DCUC Crime Syndicate set. $75.00!!! I know that's actually a bit cheaper than what they retail for a piece, but not much. Not much of a "gift" set, is it? You know this one will be in the clearance aisle soon.

Yeah I picked that one up when I first saw it, it is a pretty nice figure the new accessories are really kind of cool on the newer Joes.

That DCUC Crime Syndicate is a little pricey for a gift set, I guess they know their market. I suspect you are right though. I did at one time see a couple of the sets from last year with the Bat Villains hit clearance here in Texas.

Ok ..., I've yet to see a Crime Syndicate Set at any of my Walmart locations. ..... With this being said, I've read many Internet Reports tonight, that claim that given locations ... These things are already on clearance, and have been marked down from 29.99 to 45.99 ...... Mostly East Coasters Reporting.

^The Wal-Mart I saw them at had the Gotham 5-pack (with the 70s Lex) for eons, and I never did see it marked down there, it just disappeared. I did find it elsewhere for $25.

You would think after the GL set was clearanced as so as it hit last year, Wal-Mart wouldn't have asked for another exclusive set!

Of the 4 Walmarts we have here in town only 1 actually has the CS set in stock. They have 3 of them and they are not marked down (not yet anyway).
