I stopped-by TRU today looking for ideas for a birthday next week. First, I came across the successor to the DC chunky heroes. I forget what they are called, but they are in the toddler toy section. They are scaled down replacements, and to my delight/chagrin I found a Mr. Freeze and Green Lantern. These would have been welcome additions, but they're off just enough from the originals that I know they won't work for my kids.
An aisle over, I found these:
STAR WARS JEDI FORCE 12 PLAYSKOOL HEROES TOYS FULL SET | eBay
I've noticed Superhero Squad and Galactic Heroes on clearance, now I know why. Hasbro must be replacing them with these. At first I was ticked, but these are priced at $5.99 and they are actually an improvement. Rather than the unarticulated crouch, these guys have joints at the shoulders and hips. I saw Spidey, Hulk, IM, GG, Doc Doom, and Wolverine on the Marvel side, plus the SW in the link. They're a bit taller, but will work ok with the older stuff.
One odd thing is that there are some ships for SW. They packaged Obi-Wan Clone Wars style with an X-Wing. Hopefully the correct Luke will appear at some point.
