Interesting... So the place your standing in for that shot is currently SELLING them?
No...that's just a pic from the CA facebook page. It's the first time I've seen the smaller packaged version of Cap though.
From what they've said, this is the "regular" version. The "deluxe" version with more stuff and the Hawkeye build-a-costume will be available only through diamond and specialty/comic shops.
Interesting... It also underscores the suggestion of a much higher price point for that item then. That's disappointing. I tell you what... maybe their not learning much from the last flop. Playing Mantis, brought all of their hoopla into the Captain Action market with their reproductions and went WAY overboard with the initial price point for their figure. They tried justifying it by wrapping it around a lot of cardboard. Then to add insult to injury, they made you buy the figure each time with the costume. Another bad move. By the time they figured out their mistake (and got the figure in a coffin box for $9.99 and costumes separated), the damage was done and the market appeal was gone.
Captain Action makers...if your reading this. I'm a big CA collector. Don't get gimmicky with your product. Having a couple of extra pieces in a bigger package will not justify a big mark up. I measure value against what is IN the package. You promoted the Capt America costume package with Steve Rogers. Now your pulling back and changing price points to make them pay more for that initial item? If your viewed as trying to gouge the buyer, it will come back to bite you. There's plenty of history there to back that statement. Don't let positive reaction to this product on forums make you rethink prices. You still need a bigger audience than a handful of comments to sell your product. This marketplace is crowded with action figures. And you only get one chance to make a first good impression. Your also behind the eight ball by having TRU to sell it (assuming most stores ever do). Make it accessible and competitively priced or we'll be talking about this item in past tense as well.

I don't think the markup is going to be that bad...as far as I know the deluxe sets are going to be like $35?
Amok Time is selling a bundle set...you get three CA basic figures, and one of each deluxe costume sets for $150. I didnt' think that was bad at all. That's three complete 12" figures for less than the cost of one Hot Toys figure. I ordered two bundles.

I don't think it's a bait and switch type of deal. I was very confused at first by the language being used ("deluxe" set being the only set I'd seen up until this recent pic of the "standard" Cap. Am.). Since they never showed/explained the standard sets in the promo stuff I saw online, I didn't really understand at first that there were to be standard sets at all. Once I kind of figured it out I was still confused as to what the difference was, and what standard sets were going to include (i.e. already on a body) or how much they would cost. I only will be getting the standard Spider-Man most likely.
