Why doesn't Mattel actually make a new Super Powers line?

This has been bugging for a quite a while now.

Mattel has the DC license. They also have the rights to the Super Powers name, logo and even the characters that were created just for the Kenner toyline. They've included Super Powers characters like Cyclotron in DC Universe line. People that work for Mattel, like the Horseman, obviously have an affection for the line and the demand is certainly there. So, why not just bite the bullet and go ahead and make a new Super Powers line!?

Same scale and style as the classic figures but with modern sculpts and articulation. Plus, playsets and vehicles! Toys just aren't as fun without them.

It seems like such a no brainer to me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Amen brother! I would seriously buy those...OR even better on the same scale as the Marvel Universe line.

I've wondered the same thing. Since the Infinite Heroes didn't do too well (mostly do to their clunky sculpts and odd character selection), maybe now that the stink has died off they should try a true, in scale SP line.

I love my DCUCs but with toy prices going up and up, a nice, quality, smaller DC line would be welcome.

I never understood why Hasbro didn't do this ten years ago, at least in a limited form to appease collectors. It seems like a no brainer to at least resurrect the logo for a project.

They even teased us by considering the Kenner SP Batman their first of the 100, 200, etc Batmen. It said so right on the boxes!!!

It's interesting to see how diverse the Marvel offerings from Hasbro are compared to their Batman-limited DC stuff. They really were stingy with non-Batman figures.
