I cannot help but to have mixed feelings about the above pictures. On one hand I think they are neat to actually see the inside of a Chinese toy factory. Something that most of us may or may not ever get to see.
On the other hand I cannot help think about someone running around with a whip cracking it on the employees for not going FASTER.Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009
Too much space. Need more toys!
Check out the ever growing Mego like sized vehicles data base. -
It sure takes the fun out of toys.
Did you know that stonewashed jeans are made by sand spraying them? 85% of the workers (despite wearing masks) develop a lung disease. We only see the end product (hey, what a great toy!), but don't often think about who has to slave over millions of those toys....

I'm with you guys. I'm not the least bit hippyish and I don't blame the West for all the World's injustices or anything, but these people deserve a bit more than they're getting for what they're doing. I mean, working their fingers to the bone and still not earning enough in a week to even afford to buy one of what they're making hundreds of daily...that's not kosher.Last edited by torgospizza; Jul 17, '11, 4:25 PM.Comment

Dont U Guys, think its a bit clean there, I always expected a bigger mess, and not big windows, plenty of light(its a bright day, and they still have all the lights on) AC etc., I wouldnt be surprised, if these were mock ups, to a certain extent.Last edited by alex; Jul 18, '11, 7:25 AM.Comment

They could just be new factories. Places like China have seen a lot of humanizing after the public outcry a few years back. (Mostly thanks to Gifford.) As the workers gain affluence, they make demands too.

Most of the factories I have visited in China or have been sent photos from my employer's travels are clean, I think out of 45 to 50 I have seen or visited 2 were dirty and unacceptable. Also these photos are of the assembly areas and paint stations, those tend to be pretty clean areas, I am sure some of the others on the board who work in the industry could comment on the tooling areas and workshops that are used to build the molds, those tend to be a little grimier.Comment
