Hot Toys Seamless Female Action Figure

    Has anyone SEEN these things???

The articulation is beautiful, although it doesn't come with a head. But I guess you can pop on any Hot Toys female head.

The boobies are a bit on the large side, but the skin covering is very realistic, and it comes in two skin tones.

Down side: The cheapest I found it on ebay was $117.00

Now, I may like to spend my money on dollies, outfits and whatnot; but not in THOSE kinds of dollars!

Anyone else wanna take a peek?

    Anyone else HAVE one?

I've seen them on the internet, but not in person. Yep, that's way out of my priceline.

She kind of worries me though, who wants that much detail in a doll?

Is the answer "People looking for high quality craftsmanship" too on the nose?

I suppose you're "kind of worried" about customers being "too satisfied".

Nope. Too satisfied is great, but an anatomically correct 12" doll? Great if you happen to be teaching sex ed. I guess you could do a stripper pole diorama with her.

          What's next? flocked pubic hair?

            Heyyyy now

Those anatomically correct bits will show up under a t-shirt or
something like that if the custom clothing is made with the
right fabric (and yes, flocked pubic hair might be just what a certain
detail-hungry customizer is looking for in that matter as naughty as it
may seem to some who want to think naughty)

... besides... I PERSONALLY...always pictured owning a few of them and
having them dressed quite scantily to show off how cool they really were.

A Wonder Woman or Supergirl in certain costume designs are QUITE scantily clothed, and would look extra cool/sexy on those
bodies... and I think that's great... and I'll admit, I am a bit confused as
to why someone would look at that as offbase... or "naughty" in some way.... it's just the human body... not a Nazi symbol or something.

Nipples are fine, you right, they can add that perfect touch. And I love looking at a female body. I'm not against nudity at all, the more I see the happier I am I just don't see the need for a vagina on a 12" doll.

That being said, I'm going to bow out of this thread; I'm trying not to start any flame wars. I'll certainly read any replies, but there's no need to carry on with this. We each have our opinions, and I resect yours even is I don't agree with it.

Same here... and altho' I have been prone to "flame war" type stuff in this
forum... I always contend that I see it more as "civilized debate".

If this is all that's gonna be said on the matter between you & I...
I'd sum it up as: "In our debate, it's a fine line between nipple
                  and vagina....literally."

Just to take this into a less debated direction on this forum at least, I really was starting to think that this was the future direction that action figures were trending in. Not just in the top end, but with the announcement that Swamp Thing was going to be Mattel's first " endoskeletal" figure.. Perhaps indicating where dc classics might be going for example?

However, I also just stumbled across this..
toyhaven: Hot Toys SDU all cracked up: Peril of seamless muscle bodies

Detailing how many of these first generation bodies are crumbling and cracking apart. Really scary given the hundred plus dollars price point on many of these high end 12" figures. Ticking time bombs with a limited shelf life... Not unlike the fears some stretch collectors might have given how pricey those are.

So what mightthis mean for swamp thing ten years down the line?

I understand some barbies might employ similar seamless bodies? How are those holding up in comparison?

Another case in point... I've got an animatronic Yoda from around the late 90's rerelease. Very cool figure but the rubber around the animatronic eyes cracked last time I looked at it.

Will this happen to all rubber seamless bodies?

Unfortunately, I would think so. Rubber degrades with time and exposure to air. Are these bodies made out of silicone? Because some silicones do not have that much of a lifespan...
