Oh, yeah! Not a Barbie collector, but I'll be getting the Farrah Doll!
Since it'll stay in the box, not a problem with the pose...besides, changing the pose defeats the purpose of the whole gimmick.

The head and swimsuit can be put on another Barbie body. People will replace Mattel Retro bodies but not Barbie? Strange...Comment

I'd have to look at how the neck and head are attached, but I imagine you could swap stuff over to another body easily.

Removing a Barbie head is not as simple as popping off a Mego one. The heads are not designed to be removed. There is generally a plastic stalk, with a knob or a hook at the end, inside the neck and head which holds the head on to the body. Just tying to pull the head off will usually result in cracking the neck and breaking the stalk.
You also can't just do an action figure style boil and pop because you can damage the hair and ruin the set. The only thing that works at all is heating the face with a hair dryer and slowly trying to work the head loose from the stalk. The heads can be removed but not without a great chance of damaging both the body and head. I don't recommend it.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. I thought about that Werewolf (IIRC, FC figures have a similar set-up on the neck), but you could just cut the head off the replacement body to protect the hooks from breakage. If you didn't want to save the original body (personally, I would), it wouldn't matter if those hooks were broken off. That's an excellent point, though.
Kind of off-topic, but have there ever been Barbies made with flat feet? I suspect if there were, they'd be much more popular among customizers.Comment
