What's the deal with the non-Clone Wars Star Wars figures?

I'm a casual collector of the Hasbro Star Wars figures, but what's with nothing new being released?? Or is it that there is new stuff being released, but scalpers are getting to the figures?

Whenever I stop at a Target, or a Toys R Us, or a Walmart, there is dozens of stormtroopers, clone troopers.. and a Cloud City Pilot or two and a 4-LOM. I'm seeing stuff that's been out since 2009.

Is Hasbro flooding the market with these peg-warmers and keeping new figures in short supply? Or is there a strike at a toy factory in China, or something??
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

You know, I see people kvetching like crazy about Retro Action clinging to the shelves but I've been staring at the same set of SW figures at my TRU for like two years now.

So much so, that my kid doesn't even pay attention to them anymore...

The new stuff goes out quick, and all that's left is the army builders, at least in my neck of the woods. If you see a Luke or Han you better jump on it quickly.

Most Star Wars are just repainted, or a Re-sculpted head these days ...
The Retro-Classic cards are a nice neat little collectible , however the samething apply's to most of those too, I believe.

I like the Clone War Toon figures..., infact I do collect them... However it's been close to a year since I snagged a new 1 here, and I know there's like 8 I still need I believe.

All stored here did a major isle restock move-age ... because of all the movie toys..., I thought I'd see some new Star Wars product in the exchange, however have thus far not.

Especially the ROTJ stuff. Hasbro didn't put out too much of the stuff. Good luck finding a Wicket,Jedi Luke or Gamorrean Guard. I haven't seen too many Ackbars either. The other three can still be found.

I found some Target exclusive three packs the other day. Does that count for new Star Wars stuff? There is like three figures in a set and there are three sets so far. all I wanted was the villains set because they are the coolest IMO.

I really haven't seen anything new in my area either. I did see the Target 3 packs but that's about it. They still have the ESB Vintage wave on the shelves. They never did get anything in past that, and that was a year ago.

I don't see how one thing has to do with the other. I mean... sucky distribution is sucky distribution.
