Why no X-Men: First Class toys?

Seems really odd that Marvel put out toys from the Thor and Cap movies, but not the X-Men movie.

It had some really great character designs. Magneto from the end of the film would've been awesome, along with Beast, Azazel, and a diamond Emma Frost. It would be great to have a new movie Mystique too.

    Hmmmm....

    ....wait for it....

I find it hard to believe there are NO toys coming; not these days. It IS weird that they weren't out before the film though.... or that there weren't a zillion pics, articles and reviews.

I did read a rumor somewhere that disney was trying to curb merchandise on marvel properties that they didn't own the full rights too, and fox owns the rights as long as they are developing projects, on a couple of marvel charcters including the X-men, maybe a load of rubish but these days who knows would explain the lack of merchandise generally on x-men first class compared to the other two movies

There was nothing for X3 either, just stuff in the Legends line.

I don't think the X-men toys were ever big sellers. I know they had little figures for the Wolverine film and those bombed as well. I'm confident when Disney looked at how crammed the shelves would be this summer with both Marvel and DC related movie merchandise, a sacrifice had to be made. X-Men seemed like a likely candidate to get skipped.

Yeah, I remember reading an article that said the first X Men movie toys weren't hot sellers, that's why the X2 toy line was so small and hard to find.

I guess we might see some Hot Toys stuff after the fact.

maybe the toy buyers in the bog chains have learned from all the recent toy failures that the hard core collector market for superhero figs isn't enough to justify all the product that they have to eat in the end. I'm actually shocked there is so much GL product

They have just recently announced that hot toys has the license.

i'd imagine magneto would be the first one out of the gate since it's "his" movie, but an Emma frost would be terrific.

I'd think in terms of the toys, this is a case where the leather jumpsuits actually really worked against them. Much less toyetic than the colourful spandex and masks.

Given a choice between the x-men movie figures, something like Ben 10 would win out.

There was a bunch of toys for the Wolverine movie that didn't really move so I think they were being cautious this time.

I think First Class was so great because they were not expecting much from it and they dared to do something really different. It paid off. I saw it for the second time yesterday with my girlfriend and she was on the edge of her seat the whole time! All the rest of the night she would comment on something she saw or just remind me how great it was.

I'd be up for getting Xavier and Magneto figures. Magneto should have 2. One where he's in the yellow and blue Xmen uniform, then another in red and purple. Removable helmets for both of course.
