DC Universe Wave 19 JSA Themed Revealed

I can't post pix at work but, here is the link.

MTV Geek Exclusive First Look: DC Universe Classics Wave 19! MTV Geek

Really like the Sandman and Atom. I already did a custom GA Hawkman using the mask from the DC Direct set a few years ago so will only be getting the 2 golden age JSA'ers. Great looking figures.

I love how bulky Atom is. Hopefully, they won't screw up the height like DC Direct did several years ago. I'm sure they will get it right.

Stars and STRIPE! I'm definitely getting these two.

Interesting that they went with Kobra instead of Per Degaton. Although I guess in this incarnation Kobra is more toyetic. I didn't realize he debuted in hi own series. Fascinating how Marvel and DC let villains headline quite a few titles in the 70's.

Also interesting that they are going with Magog after so unceremoniously killing him after going to all the trouble of doing all that Kingdom Come tie in with the JSA. Astonishing how quickly a title like JSA can drop like a stone once a top tier writer like Geoff Johns jumps off. I had really high hopes for Willingham's JSA since I'm big fan of most of his stuff outside of the DCU... Fables, Pantheon, Elementals, Ironwood, Proposition Player, Merv Pumpkinghead etc.

*doh* just realized STRIPE is the BAF.

Has that STRIPE design showed up in the comics? I'm the cornball that likes the big tin can design he originally had. It just seemed very Retro which I think suits Pat Duggan's character better than a more contemporary Iron Man/Anime Mecha design like that.

I don't think that version has turned up. It's bascially a repainted Stel from the second GL wave.

For a bunch of C- and D-list characters that's a great-looking set of figures. Never, ever thought I would see a Sandman. That Hawkman is terrific as is the Kobra guy. And Stars and Stripe, Atom and Magog look great too. This is truly a line for comic collectors because there's not a mom out there that would recognize any of these characters. Hawkman, maybe.

Wow, great wave! I'm all about Sandman and Atom at the very least. The DCD figures of these guys kind of blow compared to others.

Jay Garrick is still conspicuous by his absence.

Maybe they will do a "Flash Wave" with Jay, Zoom, Impluse, Jesse and others.

It's an entire wave of characters I don't really care about so that's good for my wallet. They look really great though. Looks like they got Star Girl perfect.

I would have preferred Kobra in his 70s garb.....But I can still myself picking up him, Stargirl and maybe Sandman ( I like this color scheme better than the DCD one...).
Magog is a total waste IMO....peg warmer

Excellent wave, great to see the JSA filled out a little more...before the DCNu reboot erases them from existence! :(
