I was like "Those look like Mattel figures"--- then realized they WERE Mattel figures.

They are great and, I tell ya, if Mattel made most of the WWF guys
I liked from the mid-late 80s... even tho' I'm not a big WWF fan at all,
I'd sure be tempted to buy up a bunch.

Quick UW story. A buddy of mine was working a video store in 1989 when WWF was in town. Warrior came in and rented a few movies. The license he used had the name Michael Doom, not Helwig. Now I guess it just says Warrior.

Cool figure, though. I still haven't seen one with an accurate facial sculpt. I don't know what's so hard about him.

the thing with his facial sculpt is that you really don't have to do anything unique since you automatically know it's him with the face paint and hair

Now if you were to do one with no make-up then that'd be a little harder , but there's a couple of Jakks that do look like him

I had heard that this guy roided-out and died years ago...is this true or an urban legend?

Its hard to keep track of all of these weirdos...lol....I bailed-out on this stuff around the mid 80s when it went from 'goofy superheroish fun' to 'trailer court roid rage'...
As a kid, those guys were FUN to me: Andre, Junkyard, Hacksaw, Bundy, Hulk, etc. Now, when I catch bits flipping through channels, it just strikes me as overly violent/dark, terribly obnoxious, and waaaaay too full of itself. Two of my wife's work friends, a middle-aged gay couple, enjoy watching it for giggles, (..and other very obvious reasons..) but meh..I just cant get into it. The one guy, Tony, will harass me and say "C'mon over Charlie...the WRASSLIN is on the TV!" in this awful mock-Southern accent, just to try and get my goat....
