While I completely understand this decision, it makes me very sad.

JLU was a line I've shared with my son since day 1 and it has been a fun "Father and Son" activity for us, they went from being my collection to his playthings and I'll miss the Christmas tradition of getting him new figures.

It's demise is tied into my kid growing up and that can't not bother me.

Well said Brian. Kind of the same thing for me, although Andrew has moved onto each subsequent animated series. He's now really looking forward to the Young Justice toys.

So is Dean, he's pretty obsessed with YJ to be honest but for me it's the end of an era and that's a whole "Cat's in the Cradle" thing with me.

The fact that characters like KILLER FROST and MR. MYX were never made
in Timmverse form irks me a bit... but if the line is TRULY and TOTALLY dead.... I guess that means I can make a definitive list of custom figures
to comission. and that'll be THAT.

(And slim chance of MATTEL ressurecting the line and making
          the characters I comissioned!)

When he asks you for the car keys... just hand him a JLU B'wana Beast
figure... it may not ease the pain, but IMHO it'll do wonders for closure!

Given his enthusiasm at the toy shows, I think it's only a matter of time before young Palitoy Jr takes over around here!

(of course he'll be renaming it the Lego Museum, and the first card series will be based on the Phantom Menace Lego guys. Hear that fellas? We're on notice... we need to vacate the premises to make way for pre-teens, AFOLs, and the Scandivians. I'd say we got about twenty years)

I got old man Bruce Wayne and a good Batman Beyond figure so I'm happy. I would like to have gotten more of the future JLU. I know Superman is out there somewhere for me to get.

You're right, it's great that Static has a figure at all, but in the past creator Dwayne McDuffie has pointed out that most other series with the kind of ratings success that Static Shock had back at the time would have spawned a toy line. He's the reason why John Stewart via the JLU has has a fantastic high profile in pop culture now. (I got a Stewart figure inside my Kinder surprise the other day!!!)

Interesting interview excerpt where he addresses representation and so called "quotas" from a recent Black Superhero documentary entitled "Sidney Poitier or Shaft"

Watch the JLU episode: A Distant Shore; w/the tale of the Viking King. Probably the most screen time he has had in a story.

Yeah, Static Shock was a very under-rated series. If nothing else, all the DC guest spot episodes should be on DVD.

                              There ya go.

Any episode w/DEVIL RAY is a fave of mine...
I saw "KING" ... is he the bubble gum government guy?

If so, must be the NAME "King"...not the "title" of King... THAT'S what
                              threw me.

                              Regardless, I'll check it out.

Sounds like the show was a potent one as far as being recieved critically.

                                I'll bone up on it.

(I have access to all the episodes)
