Superman/Metallo Brave and Bold figures are out!

I had no idea this was even in the pipeline, but found this today at Target! I guess this is from the upcoming B&B episode with Superman, since all the other B&B figure sets have been based on events from actual episodes.

Metallo has a battle-damaged chest like the old He-Man figures, and the package actually has a blurb on it telling you to shake it up and down. Metallo's left hand bashes Superman repeatedly, and there is even an oval opening in the top of the box so the Superman figure can move up and down more!

The Superman figure is a bit odd. It doesn't really look much like the Superman design on the package. He has a somewhat unfinished look to him, but maybe they are going for an old-school Joe Shuster vibe. Hard to say.
But hey, it's Superman, and we've long wanted him to show up on B&B, and I couldn't resist.

Batman is a typical repaint. His torso is vac-metalized silver/black, and the rest of him is black.

Did anyone ever hear about this coming out? It's new to me!

It is really cool. Did they make Robin at all? I really the Earth 2 costume they used for that show and I've been hoping to find a figure.

No Robin that I know of. A Robin from the small Action League line was shown (in his Earth 2-type costume), but has not, and will not be released any time soon, according to a Mattel spokesperson over at AFI.

There are still B&B episodes yet to air (apparently, quite a few of them, like another season's worth), but I think production is pretty much over. Showrunner James Tucker has moved on to a new CGI Batman series.

I opened the set, and I like Superman a bit more now. He seems to be suffering from no-neck syndrome like some of the other B&B figures (like the Atom), but whether it's intentional or not, he reminds me of the old, squatty Shuster-like Superman.

$19.99 at Target. Not bad for 3 figures, when most outlets have B&B figures for around $8. And Metallo is huge. About the size of the Rubberneck figure from the Plastic Man set.

Yes, there will still be a 3rd season, maybe 12 more episodes. They're just taking a short break right now to hype YOUNG JUSTICE. So, B&B will be back!
