1/6 Star Trek TOS?

Saw that Dragon was making a few ST:TNG figures in 1/6 scale (for an example, click here), and was wondering who had the original series' rights. Anyone know? Playmates did, and I'm wondering if their current holding of the license for the reboot is covering this. I'm really curious because I've been jonesing for some good 1/6 figures of these guys with decent sculpts. A few years back I saw prototype pics on the net here and really fell in love with them, but they obviously never went anywhere.

I hope Dragon doesn't do it. I just don't care for their TNG figures. Not a fan of their likenesses. I think Gentle Giant did an 18" proto of Picard that was shown in San Diego a couple of years ago that looked incredible. But they never produced it. Oh well.

I think Playmates has the rights. They picked up the original series when they got the movie rights. Even had a line of 3 3/4 figures based on the original characters that were put on hold as the movie line is still stinking up the toy store pegs like rancid cheese hidden on a school bus in august!

Diamond Select I believe holds the license and opted for horrible 1/4 scale abominations rather than the figures that torgospizza referred to. Too bad as there were a great lineup of figures planned in that set.

I am burned out by all the attempts all the way back to the porcilean dolls.

Unless they make Movie stuff. Like Voyage Home, Space suits, security guards etc. Things we havent seen before through teh years.
