Beatles Yellow Submarine Prop Replica

Monsters in Motion has this up for pre-order. When they made the film Yellow Submarine (1969) the animators used a 3D model to figure out the complex angles of the sub. It can be seen in the bonus feature on the DVD when they go behind the scenes. I tried building one from scratch the ILM way many years ago and studied the cartoon intently. I have to say this is a really accurate model and does not take the short-cuts McFarlane Toys did when they made their "bar-of-soap" toy version. It's 20" long but at $599.99, I'll have to pass. It is a beauty!

That's a beautiful piece. My favorite version of The Yellow Submarine was made by Corgi when the movie premiered.

Boxed versions of these guys (if you can find one) are almost as expensive as that Monsters in Motion piece.
