Doctor Who Delgado Master & Axon Review

The best year of Doctor Who toys continues as in this edition of Doctor Whosday, we're looking at Roger Delgado's version of the Master. He doesn't come alone though, he's packed with a pinkish fleshy monster known as the Axon. Be sure to check out the full review and go pick these guys up if you haven't already!

Nice review

The Delgado figure is my singlemost favorite Classic Doctor Who action figure to date.

It's just perfect in every way.....

The sculpt is killer --- I've NEVER seen a figure look so much like the real actor better than this Delgado.

I give this one 5 stars --- and to date it's the only DW figure with 5 stars in my book.

The Axon, I couldn't care less about

In my book Delgado will always be the definitive and first Master. Some are trying to say that the kid that portrayed the Master as a child recently is the first but that's sooooo wrong.

I agree. I'm hoping they might put together a box set of Masters, as they did with the Doctors. It could come in a box like a classic column.

Well, if you want to get really technical you can also add the Traken Master, the post Ainley pre Roberts Master - and the kid from the new series

This seems to be the popular thought.

They'd probably all have to be variants of some sort though. Just as the 11 Doctors set was variants of the previous released Doctors.

That makes sense. Maybe the Ainley variant could be the Survival costume, while an individually released Ainley could be his Season 18-23 look. The Eric Roberts Master could be released individually with his black-coat-and-sunglasses look, with a Time-Lord-robes variant "drezzzed for the occasion." Not sure what they could do for Yana or Simm.

If I had to guess, I doubt Eric Roberts will get more than one release. Though I wouldn't mind two versions. The TVM still divides a lot of fans and while many are willing to give the 8th a pass, not so many love Roberts' Master.

I like Robert's Master ...

I think it fit's in perfectly with the progression of the Master's mindstate

Delgado -- Smart, gentleman and evil with a purpose
Ainley -- generally about the same but way more psychotic
Roberts -- psychoticness has totally taken over
Simm -- psychotic to the point of being a buffoon.
