    NECA TMNT Batsus Review

Since 2010 started, NECA has put out two products related to the TMNT: Batsus and Bobbleheads. Since I refuse to buy bobbleheads, I finally caved and bought these crummy Batsus. So why if these products are so terrible, am I now reviewing them? Well, they were on clearance for $2.50 and I managed to pick up the whole set for less than the price of ONE under the original value. How do I feel about these toys now that I have them in hand and paid so little for them? One word: TURD-A-BUNGA!

    Not so nice review ahead:

I have kind of a peripheral interest in the Urban Vinyl movement (and of course original Japanese Vinyl toys) and licensed stuff like this trying to catch a trend always seems to miss the boat so horribly.

    Case in point...

I'm really having a hard time seeing any kind of charm or aesthetic appeal in the Batsus and Blammoids.

Not really feelin' the Street Fighter Batsu either.

Whereas stuff like this from Kid Robot has a degree of fun caricature, oddly sensical distortion and humourous parodic juxtaposition.

(I believe the Bionic Bigfoot is not a licensed item)
