Power Team Elite Navy Seal Night Operations Figure Review

Ever seen those cheap $10 Power Team Elite 12 inch figures at Big Lots? Wondered if they were any good? I haven't bought a lot of 1:6 scale stuff in my time in collecting but I have dabbled a few times and I finally started to buy some more. Today I'm looking at a figure from a brand I've passed up dozens of times. It's Power Team Elite baby!

I was quite shocked how good this figure was for $10. This seems a lot less like a GI Joe knock-off as many people probably suspected it was. Instead this offers one of the best values for the price and quality. Check out the full review of this Navy Seal Night Operations figure.

        Cool review!!

These bodies have been out for a while actually (about 97 or 98 they debuted--might have been a bit later, like 01 or so, but was definitely in that time frame). Originally, they were an attempt by Gordon to move the M&C figures on par with blue box's Elite stuff, which was the king of the hill at the time (Dragon was out, but not quite caught on yet). They still used their Harbro-esque body then too, mainly for cheaper figures. their were two female bodies designed. The first is a bit like the Joe classic collection body, and was used on a lot of figures during the 1990's 1/6 scale revival that was going on at the time. A better body, in line with Cy-Girls (really was) was also designed, but has never been used. the reason was retailers were dropping the 1/6 lines in droves.

Used to work with Gordon and the boys at M&C. Great little company that kind of let itself stagnate a bit. Their 12" stuff, originally "borrowed" from Hasbro, evolved into a top knotch line, and the 3 3/4 stuff (best found in some of TRU's line of figures) is pretty good too, although lacking in detail. I see some of the newer 3 3/4" stuff is less articulated too now.

A few years back, we almost had Bonanza and Flash Gordon (based on the then current comic strip) from these guys! .... Now, they only do special project stuff or licenses like "The bill" tv series from the UK. they also started an animation arm a few years back, and last I heard where going to use that to develop in house projects.

Hey that's awesome. I have some older bodies, stamped 2001ish that are far less articulated, which is why I figured it didn't come around until a little after then. It's a shame more of the M&C stuff isn't available stateside.

A Flash Gordon would have been awesome.
