As a fan and viewer, it did seem like Tom never smiled that whole season.

Not sure if that was ment for the character or Tom himself consciously wasn't happy.

By the time of Logopolis he downright looked angry in some scenes.

I think the head is perfect for this figure.

Putting a grinning head on a Tom's last season figure would look weird.

I think he was also ill at the time.

He'd lost weight and looks very gaunt during the whole season.

I once read of a continuity gaffe in DWM that from Logopolis to Castrovalva, Tom's boots became shoes for Peter? ( Or it could have been vice versa).

Yeah, Tom's boots magically turn into shoes.
Maybe it was part of the regeneration process?

Take a look at the large picture of Tom's left foot compared to the slightly clearer scarfless Davison, just above the ankle it looks like part of a diamond pattern.

I think they both have boots. That's a new Davison sculpt too?

I don't know if it's a completely new face sculpt but the hair is different.

What American Figures are these in scale with? ( so I can use accessories etc?)

Marvel Legends? Wrestling? Movie Maniacs? DC Universe?

                      Hmmmm,

They average about an inch taller than Playmates small Star Trek figures from the 90's

The Doctors are different heights reflecting the real differences in real life.

The Jon Pertwee figure is almost an inch taller than Patrick Troughton

Very excited about this figure - after the "Pyramids of Mars" outfit, the Season 18 one is probably my favorite one of Tom's. And I like the more somber face sculpt - as others have pointed out, it suits the more funereal atmosphere of the season.

And I haven't bought any version of K9 yet, which makes this figure a must-have for me!
