    Has Sideshow gone completely bonkers?

"Wow", I said, "a 12 inch SW Hammerhead!!"
    Cool!

Then I saw the price: $125. Huh?
Let me just wire my whole paycheck directly to the Sideshow account, ok?

It's a regular SW 12 inch. Nothing special about it. Why the $$$$ price tag?
I'd love to have this figure, but this is crazy.

And if you want his table for the cantina with it (a vacformed piece of plastic worth $2), cough up another $80 or something.

    Has the world gone mad?

I remember when you could walk into a Toys R Us and buy a 12-inch Sideshow Frankenstein for about 20 bucks. Ah, the good ol' days.

It seems like Sideshow wants to be in the same market as Hot Toys, but doesn't want to do whatever needs to be done to get the same quality. (And in all fairness, I don't know how Hot Toys does it, other than that it's some kind of home field advantage.)

But yeah, $125 for a Hammerhead is ridiculous.

Yeah ,.. Like over 50% Drop off .

Same thing with Most Bowen Busts ...., Or any Statues really.

You can get most SideShow Star Wars Regular figures ( Not the Premium Stuff) For 40to65 Bucks a figure if you watch them On Ebay ....

I don't understand How anybody could buy them so Inflated, then Sell them for that much of a percentage under the Retail price. ... I doubt 40 Bucks is the cost they get them for.

However, With some SideShow Star Wars Figures after a Certain Window of Time .., Which I can not figure this out yet as to how long, Certain figures Bounce back Up a Bit, most of the Time. Case in Point ... Jedi Luke , and Darth Maul to name a couple.

                I like the SideShow Figures...,
But I liked the Days of collecting the 12inch Hasbro Stuff...,
And being able to walk into any Store, and Pick a new 1 up for 20 Bucks..., then all the Target and ToysRus Exclusives, were always so much fun. ... I own Almost every Single Hasbro 12incher ...., I have only 4 from Sideshow so far.

folks are balking at a 125 alien, and yet buyers are tripping over themselves to spend $75 or more) on a blown up Stormtrooper.

The Sideshow SW figures are way over priced. Sideshow lost my money when they changed from Sideshow Toys to Sideshow collectibles. Their quality went down and their prices went up.

I was really disappointed when Hasbro handed over the 12 inch SW license to Sideshow. Because I knew that meant they would switch the 12 figures from toys to over priced "collectibles." Hasbro was really getting into their groove with the 12 SW figures too. The VOTC 12 inch figures were very well done and only $30.

And, yes, the Gentle Giant upscaled retro SW figures are also way over priced. I mentioned that several times in those threads. I dig them but no way am I spending $85 on a figure that would sell for $20 at Toys r Us.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I think the Sideshow Momaw looks amazing. Great detail and looks far better than anything Hasbro would make.
I'm sticking with the Gentle Giant 12" line since I prefer the vintage version myself. Regardless of cost and more so if it's limited edition.

I'm going to make my own Hammerhead. Heck, it's not that hard a sculpt.
                            Take that, Sideshow!

At first, I thought you meant exploded, like with one arm hanging off, eyes popping out of the helmet. I'd totally pay for that......
