    Drastic Plastic Hard Corps figures

For those of you that may not remember these figures back in the early '90's they are the Hard Corp action figures from Drastic Plastic!!
I loved this set from when I first saw it in Tomarts Digest and the Toy Shop publication and I had to get it.
At $99 for the set as an introductory price, later to go up to $199 when in full production, they were expensive. It is too bad these never came into a full real production, they are a pretty cool figure.
Here is the cool box work, very colorful and a lot of info of the figures on the box. I've got #69 out of XXX and all cards inside match what the box# is.

The great card art work is fantastic.

A book that has all the stats of the figures and a story of what they are all about.

    The Space Marines

    The Aliens

Prototypes, these were sent to me by David Reeves the creator himself as a peace offering for calling the Toy Shop publication, BBB, and consumer affairs on him to get my figures after 2-3 year wait.

This is Wave 2 that never made it into "production" only a handful of 50 each were made. These alone cost $50 each and came with cool file cards.

All of the figures are cast in colored resin and are hand painted, some have accessories and die cast parts.
The robot in the Space Marines is the coolest as "she" is a female who was killed in action and her brain was taken out and put in cylinder and stuffed into the robot to make it function and it actually comes with brain and cylinder.
Does anyone here have these great figures or any of the other "Wave 2" figures? I think there was 1 or two more, but I couldn't afford to get more at the time.
I'd love to here if anyone else here has these.
Enjoy a blast from the past.

I remember those from the old Tomart ads. I had actually thought about ordering them a couple of times and had always wondered if they ever really got made. The sculpts on some of them are a little crude and don't look as cool as the artwork but amazing figures none the less. Thank you for posting this!
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

This line was quite the undertaking at the time by a private person that just never got off the ground unfortunately because it is apparent that a lot of thought and work went into these to get them this far. It was just too bad I had to make so many calls, other then to Drastic Plastic, to get my figures from David.

I have always wondered how many got produced, I would love to here some #'s if anyone knows.

The three Space Marines are the crudest sculpts of the bunch, the aliens and robot are great, especially the wave 2 figures.

I saw a set of figures at a Chiller Theatre around 1996, I wasn't really interested in buying it but I had closely followed the stories about it in Lee's so I was surprised to see it there.

I remember seeing the add for these, back in the early 90's and wondering what had happened to them. Any chance you could repost the pics, as I can't seem to see them now.

Not sure. Throw them on eBay with a reserve and find out.

I remember these they were in the very early 90's advertised in Tomarts action figure magazine hardly modern toys that was close to 20 years ago.I read pre ordering was low.the guy who started this ran out of money cause the undertaking of this production just got too big so they were never officially realized or mass produced which was his goal. a lucky few got their sets.actually they were kinda cool but in the early 90's I was not buying as much as I am now

I'm surprised that one of the larger toy companies hasn't made him an offer to buy the rights to produce them.

                              Hey Guys,

I got a set of these back in 92 after over a year of tracking down the owner of the company who dissapeared. He sent me the boxed set of the 8 figures plus a few unpainted prototypes, cards, magazines and other stuff. I was wonderig if anyone knows how much they are going for now? I just saw one selling on Amazon for $3,950!!! Could this be true. I know they are extremely rare and only a few lucky people who pursued the issue back then got the sets. Id love to hear from anyone else who has info. Thanks
                              Corey
