    Finally! A jointed Ultraman figure...

For all the years...strike that...DECADES...that I have loved Ultraman, it has always mystified me why the Japanese could never manage to make a figure that was multi-jointed. The DC Universe figures (and so many like them) have been the standard for a long time now. Why is it the Japanese market have been so slow to grasp this concept for a figure that begs to require more than one pose? Well...FINALLY, we have one coming out in June. It's about freakin' time...

I just noticed that Walmart has the entire series in a box for like $7.50 I think it was. I almost bought it a few days ago... maybe later. I have 3 things left to buy here asap if they are still available.

Not like your average figure. Always solid arms and legs. The only one I have multi- jointed, is my $200 deluxe Type C figure, which also has a rubber suit and working lights in the eyes and chest. The lesser figures have never had any articulation worth writing home about, so this figure is a nice arrival. I'll definitely get one.

Mostly, the only multi-jointed Ultramans in the past were larger ones that had cloth outfits. For Ultraman, "sofubi" toys (soft vinyl figures) have ruled the toyshelves for years and years. They're nice and cheap, but articulation isn't their strong point (many of them have articuated arms and waist, that's it). So this new one is kind of refreshing to see (looks like he'll be around the same size as the sofubi Ultra toys, little over six inches)

I've had 2 Ultraman figures over the past 20 years. They both sucked. But they were all that I could find. I didn't look very hard. What is this $200 one you're talking about... That sounds totally cool.... I wonder when and where this one will be available.....

"Ultra Act" There's a Gomora coming out in the line, too, in addition to various Ultramen.

HLJ has the first one up for preorder, Y2800:

Actually there was briefly some super multi-jointed Ultraman figures available. Bunch of different colors. You could get two for about $50... Unfortunately they're as fragile as glass: Infinite Hollywood: Ultraman SRC Type A & B Review

This new one looks superb, I'll have to look into getting him.

They retail for about $30 in Japan. If you pay $60 for one of these, you're paying secondary market importer ripoff price. Check the HLJ link. SAL postage is about the same price as Priority.
