^^^ Thats Spending 20 x Like what 6 if you want all the Characters ..., then you got an Arse load of Extra Parts Nobody is gonna really want either without the Torso, Thighs and Shoulders .... Limiting these parts, wasn't really thought out too well imo ..., Unless There is a Body coming to be sold seperately too ..., It's the only Idea that makes sense to me.

It would need a lot of work. The bodies are not modular like Megos and are not meant to come apart. The standard torso's hips are hollow and the legs are strung. You would have to make hip pins to snap the CAM legs onto. The neck joint would have to be heavily modded too. You'd also probably have to crack the torso open as well to get the shoulders out.

I'm not saying it would be impossible for the super talented customizers here. Just that it would be a heck of a lot easier (and probably cheaper) to spend the $20 and get a CAM starter set. I too wish they came with two torsos, but it's still a really good deal considering all the parts (heads, wig, limbs and outfits) you get.

^^ that is what I am thinking, BK. Tho the build a monster torso is a different design than the regular gals. I still think one of the regular figures could be modded to work with the add on kits, tho. Just haven't had the time to pick one up and mess with it.

    Thats sorta Stupid ...
They Need to make a Torso with Thighs and Shoulders Sold Seperately.
My Kids Have popped the Hand and Forarms off of these on Accident ...., If I can get the Legs off ..., looks like Buying 1 of these that sits around the pegs is the way to go to try and customize these ....

While I think the CaM sets are fun for kids, I don't think they display well with the limited color of torsos available. I'd planned to pick up the 3-eyed monster set and try to pop the head on an extra basic Abbey, but I'm not sure if that would even work.

Great find, wolf. No sign of Cupid here yet, but Wal-Marts in my area are generally a disaster. No sign of Toralei or the other new basics either, though the Sweet 1600, Create-A-Monster and Skull Shores sets are hitting with all the resets. Those Sweet 1600 dolls are pricey at aprox. $25 each at Target, while Draculaura's car is only 19.99 (a price I expect to see increase shortly as the car is as much as $35 elsewhere).

I picked up the Skull Shores set today against my better judgment. Gil is a must, and they look great sitting next to Target's Gloom Beach 5-pack. The case breakdown seems to be 1 x Gil, 1 x Lagoona, 2 x Abbey, 2 x Ghoulia. Not sure why Draculaura is absent from these cases so far (or what exactly the deal is with that 'silver screen' Skull Shores Frankie popping up), but I hope it isn't another case of Mattel soliciting more dolls than retailers actually see, then said doll winding up as the lone exclusive in a retailer multipack. Speaking of, a Dead Tired Abbey appeared in the newest webisode...can't wait to see her in a DT multipack! Anyway, one of my Gil's stands is teal, the other's is orange. I hear there are variations in stand colors with this wave, for anyone who cares about that sort of thing...

Also, previously unrevealed 2012 basics have popped up on walmart.com...Jackson Jekyll (basic finally), Robecca Steam (clockwork/steampunk girl), Rochelle Goyle (gargoyle), and Venus McFlyTrap (wild guess).

I understand they are different designs. Just wanted to see if anyone had done a comparison picture.

The bodies are a different design.

The hips on the regular Monster High dolls are strung. Cut the elastic, the legs fall off and you will never get them back on. The hips on the Create a Monster dolls snap on to pegs. The regular MH doll's heads are attached like Barbie heads and are not meant to come off. If you try to pull it off you will more than likely damage the head and break the stalk the head is a attached to. The CAM heads snaps onto a round peg on the top of the neck.

    [edit]

Forgot to mention, the shoulders of the standard MH dolls are not removable.

Still wondering if anyone is finding these at secondhand stores yet. I saw one in a bin at one of the Goodwill clearinghouse sort of places about a month ago. Draculaura and she was missing her forearms and hands.

Also wanting to know if anyone with the build a monster kits can show a comparison picture of how the bodies differ.

    thanks

The Create a Monster accessory packs won't work with the regular dolls. They are assembled differently. Their legs and heads aren't meant to come off. You have to use the Create a Monster Starter kits.
