What happened to GI JOE at Toys R Us in Times Square?

A couple of weeks ago I went to TRU in Times Square here in Manhattan. They used to have a huge GI Joe display with 12" and 3 3/4" figures, vehichles, etc. Now, they just have a few Joe's off in a corner of the action figure section and they are all movie (Rise of Cobra) figures. Nothing else. This was a bit disappointing to say the least.

Are all Toys R Us locations like this now when it comes to GI Joe?

I should check out FAO Schwartz in a couple of weeks. I assume WalMart still carries GI Joe.

I was just at TRU last night and they still had a few of their "builder" type packs left all on clearance (like "fire fly vs the joes" and it comes with 4 figures in a box)

With the annoucement in USA today that IDW was coing to resetart the original (marvel) RAH comic series (free comic day #155 1/2 and then #156 will start the new monthly) with larry Hama at the helm I am hoping for the next line to be a new RAH picking up where the 25th anniv line left off

This fall the Joe line becomes "The Pursuit of Cobra" and will take on the new styled H.I.S.S. tank, (It's very cool looking) the figures will have several play points like arctic, desert, jungle, and urban.

I was just at TRU in Charleston WV, they just had the normal Joe crap they usually have but they did have the NECA Perseus and a retro Lex and Sinestro.

Well,if nothing else we know they'll be back for sure in 2012. That'll be the 30th Anniversary for the 3 3/4" stuff.

Yeah, the movie stuff choked out the "classic" Joes just after the movie around here, but now there's just a few movie figures on the pegs. High hopes for a fall relaunch!

the movie line became the focus to Hasbro but now that the movie is past they will concentrate on newer lines....
the GI Joe club is releasing 3 3/4 adventure team figures and sets. a bit pricey but they are really cool looking
