    Great DC toy day

Went to nearby Georgetown to get a new pair of shoes, expecting to find nothing. Instead, I found the Brave and Bold Batman/Despero 2-pack at Big Lots for $10. I regretted passing it up a few months back, and never saw it again. For $10, I had to get it. The Batman in this set is a nice purply-blue, very Adam West like. They also had the Batman/Sportsmaster 2-pack.

On to K-Mart, and I almost passed up the DC Infinite Heroes. I hadn't seen ANY new figures of these in ages, and never at K-Mart. Found all the new guys, including my coveted Earth 2 Robin figure!!! Even found one for the boy too. I never thought I'd ever walk into a retail chain and buy and Earth 2 Robin.

On to the town's Wal-Mart, which despite it's size, historically has had an abysmal toy department. They had DCUC wave 11 and 12 figures!!! Not all of them, but they have never carried this line before. I couldn't pass up Spectre and Dr. Mid-Nite, but I did leave Copperhead, Iron, Eclipso, Katma Tui and The Shark behind. At $15 a piece, I can't really afford to "collect them all" anymore.

My son was happy to see the new Iron Man 2 figures, and I was happy they were currently on sale at Wal-Mart for $6.96. Not too insane, given the quality of the figures. He got a War Machine.

Why is it, when you go hunting for toys, you find zip, but when you just browse the aisles you find enough stuff to break your bank account?

Unfortunately, phone calls to TRU resulted in zero Retro-Action figures. Maybe next weekend.

I had a similar thing happen last night - I was returning from an unsuccessful Retro Heroes hunt when I had to bail off 95 because of traffic. My alternate route took me by a Walmart, and I needed deodorant and checked the toy aisle out of habit. Even though I've given up collecting DC Universe figures in favor of just buying completed collect and connect figures online, when I saw the first and only Katma Tui I've seen in the wild, the one remaining piece I need to complete my kilowog, I had to buy it. I knew I'd been watching for them on ebay, and I knew I'd be paying in final bid and shipping what I paid for the figure.

The only problem is I forgot that I put in an early bid for a loose torso on ebay, so now I'm stuck hoping I get outbid!

There was also a Green Steppenwolf there, but I left him. I'm trying not to pick up any more 6" DCU figures if I can help it at all.

Congrats on finding the E2R. I'll have to keep looking. I need that Copperhead. No Retros here yet.

I had some luck today as well. Scored B&B Metal Men and the 2" pack w/Scarecrow. I'd kill for a Despero 2-pack Chris - never saw them here either.

As for JLU - Batmen and John Stewarts galore. Did see the SF 3pack, but the boy got those for Christmas.

Saw new JLU 3-packs today at Target...Plastic Man,Cyborg,& Mr. Miracle... Metallo, Silver Banshee, & Supey...and Captain Cold, Capt Boomerang, & Flash. Still that $16.00 price point, can't do it much as I want 'em. And the Apache Chief, Blackhawk, Waller are still warming full pegs so I'll wait. Eventually Target will ark them down.

Check Big Lots Steve. They look like they had at least 2 cases of these.

I've never seen the SF JLU 3-pack. Our nearby Targets are heavily scalped though.

That's the only pack I still need......

A friend scored me all 4 Retro Action Heros. I like them. Just would have liked them even more if the upper torsos were broader. Superman looks like he needs a cheeseburger and fries!

I saw a Brave and the Bold Firestorm yesterday at Toys R Us but he was part of a set and I didn't want the others. So I passed him up. But he looked pretty cool. Otherwise its been a toy Dead Zone since Christmas around here.

I found a JLU Firestorm at Target yesterday, but I couldn't justify spending $9 for that. I then went across the street and found a DCU 75th Anniversary Nightwing that I did drop $15 on. Since I missed him the the first time around in Wave 3 I couldn't pass it up. That one figure cost me more than the 10 things my wife picked up while we were at Walmart which I have to agree with her is messed up.

I'm afraid DCUC is going to price themselves out of existence. Seems like most other companies are retreating from the 6-inch format due to cost. Just look at Hasbro's Iron Man 2 offerings, no 6-inchers in sight.

Another great toy day today! Found Retro Action Lex at TRU, and DCUC Black Canary, Wildcat and Mantis at Target. They had both Mantis versions, but I couldn't pass up the Super Powers version. I've always been a fan of that look.

On top of that, I stopped by a Wal-Mart with some good stuff on clearance. Got a Infinite Heroes Sinestro for $3. That's how much they SHOULD be to begin with. My son scored some Brave and the Bold bed sheets (with Bats, Aquaman, GA, Red Tornado and Blue Beetle!) also on clearance. He took advantage of the TRU Iron Man 2 sale and got the Suitcase armor and the Mark VI with the light up feature too.

I think it's a little more than that With Hasbro and Marvel.
Hasbro is the King of 3&3/4 inchers....., everything with Marvel in 6inch has almost, been pretty much done and done to death. Based on Joe & Star Wars Sales, it's actually quite Logical.
