    >Mattel seems to be making the most obscure DC superheroes it can for this theoretically mass-market toyline, but this is ridiculous.

Other than Tyr, they're all good solid second stringers. I think they've all appeared in a cartoon, maxi-series or 50 part non-event over the last few years.

I have no doubt in my mind that Kamandi will be a good seller, it's the first time the character has ever seen any sort of figure and he's been on Brave and the Bold twice.

Alan Scott GL, Hourman and Zatanna have respectible fan bases. Gold just guest starred on B&B and Ultra Humanoid is well known thanks to JLU.

The only characters I find a little weak in that assortment are Tyr and Obsidian.

Obsidian was kind of a deal back in the late 90's/early 00's.... but I think Tyr only really mattered for a brief period in the late 80's.

But hey; it DOES mean maybe.... just maybe.... they'll get around to Angel O'Day and Sam Simeon....

Tyr was included because of the 4 Horsemen's love for the Super Powers line....nothing more than that

              God I hope so.

But then again, I've been secretly hoping for Brother Power and Prez as well, which seems to be the dark horse longshots to me.

I'm excited about the idea that Detective Chimp may finally see his own figure given his recent appearance in B&B. Heck I'd even like to see him as an accessory... maybe as a little PVC that comes with Blue Devil or one of the Batman B&B Variants or Battle Packs (like the recent elastic Plastic Man figure that just showed up).

I'd like Ambush Bug to show up at some point as well. Maybe paired in a boxset... with Superman or Lobo?

I've been reading comics for...well since I was about 4 and I've never heard of Kamandi.

I hope the figure has some good ole Kirby flavor to it so it'll go with the New Gods figures.

I only know of him from the old Who's Who series. That was my primer on any pre-1984ish characters.

Kamandi is pretty cool, and some obscure connections to other DC citizens.

For example, he's connected to OMAC in a backhanded way, and connected to Superman in a more in your face way.

I'm all about more Kirby on toy shelves. Although when you think of all the characters he co-created, you could throw a ball and hit about twelve in any given toy aisle!!!

I'm glad Matty is putting out a Kamandi, but what would really make my day would be Kamandi and crew getting their own line! Cartoon too!!!
