    Collecting years?

How long have you been collecting action figures? I stopped during my teenage years and only collected a figure or two during the 90's. Around 2002 I had a major dose of nostalgia and I collected strongly for the next 5 years. Due to financial and space issues I've had to cutback or stop all together in some ways.

Orginally when I got into collecting I was going to concentrate on G1 Transformers but after having to fight to buy a small lot of incomplete TFs for higher than I would like I switched to mainly collecting GI JOE. I also collected Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel Legends and the Lord of the Rings Line. But my largest single collection if Gi Joe. I would like to buy a few Mego or Mego like figures sooner or later. At present I only have the remains of Superman and Bo Duke. Oh and I have a Mego Captain Kirk also, time has darkened his head a bit.

I'm not sure I ever stopped from childhood. I'll slow down from time to time. In high school I was only collecting Batman TAS.
Right now, I don't really even had a line I collect. I get whatever if its cool enough but I'm trying to limit to just DC/Batman right now.

I started in '86, gave up playing with them around '83 or so. Considered myself a collector at 14 but didn't delve into toys for about two years.

I started collecting in the early 90's and have gone through hot and cold spurts. Currently I am in a hot spurt, and the timing could not be better. Go Year-of-the-Mego!

I started in 1975, with The Lone Ranger and Fighting Furies Peg Leg.
That got me started. My dad said that "if I bought dolls, I'd never get allowance again".
I bought them anyway. They were just too cool!
I took good care of my figures, with the possible exception of Mego Kirk, who took a four storey dive off the roof and into the turtle tank in the garden.
Kirk survived (and is on display in my living room), the turtles needed therapy.

My collection really took off in 1977, when this little SciFi movie was released.
I never played with my SW collection: it went on display straight from the box.

I kinda started in '84 when the Super Powers figures were first released. I didn't really pursue Megos until '88 when I found the Fantastic Four in Atlanta at Lionel PlayWorld. Been chasing them ever since.

Not including my childhood, I started in 1986, the summer before my Freshman year in high school. An ad in Starlog by Third Planet out of Canada for Mego Trek figures pretty much started it off, though I had already been on the hunt for old Megos the previous year.

I stopped playing with toys in 1987 at age 12. The very next year I decided to collect super hero toys, but it was one of the few dead periods where there was little or no product out. Then, the Bat-Mania II happened. So I really began in 89.

I started collecting in '95 when Star Wars POTF2 came around. I haven't stopped since. SW, Classic Wrestling, Marvel Legends, MEGO! and other odds and ends that I find enticing.
No exclusives and no chase figures, please - I'm Canadian!

                      That's pretty much my timeline.
