I forgot how much I hated chasing after new figures !

In the old action figure magazines there used to be a letters page called " This space for RANT" It was pretty much devoted to people never being able to find thier figures vs. people who enjoyed "The Chase"

I've never sat out front a Toys R Us waiting on delivery day but I do admit to bribing an employee once for a Poison Ivy Animated figure.

Tonight I decided to give eBay a break and go hunting. All I wanted was to check out a DC Guardian. I went to three SuperWalmarts, a Target, two Toys R us . . I havent been in a mall in so long I think Kay Bee toys closed and no one sells toys there anyway.

I quit.

I don't need it that much.

How was I ever able to get ALL the Star Wars , Empire Strikes back, Superpowers wave 1 and 2, Gi Joe year one and two as a kid with the few rides I got to the store back then?

I feel sorry for kids who are collecting today. :-(

DCU Figures are not very well stocked as it is ..., so figures are very hard to get , for the Most part..., Wave 6, 7, 8, & pretty much 9 came out on top of each other ...., Most retailers,.. well just ordered cases of 6 & 7 ..., so wave 9 where the Guardian is in,.. is a tough Grab for the Most part ...

I was at Walmart today ..., And scene a Complete Set of Wave 7 ..., Minus No Helmet Barda ..., All other figures were there, to make Atom Smasher..., including the other Barda,.. and even Flash with a Stand..., I don't think Wave 9 ..., let alone the Walmart wave, and the New wave 11 ..., are comming here. I've never scene Wave 9 Here ..., nore Wave 10 for that Matter.

bk, you just experienced a miracle actually seeing dc universe at walmart! i've yet to see one!

I have actually scene Hawkman once ....
But other than ,.. Walmarts here seem to have stock in Captain Cold, Cyborg and Kid Flash ....

I used to hunt for figures a bit years ago but I stopped out of frustration. Hatred for scalpers and stores never restocking killed it for me. Having to spend weeks wasting gas and time hunting for particular figure lessens the overall worth of the figure imo.

That's why I just buy cases and complete sets from online toy stores now..., for most lines I am into ..., a couple of bucks more,.. is worth the 5 store visit with nothing.

I've seen DCU at SOME Walmarts recently...we have 4 stores here within a 20 mile radius(!) and only two carry the DCU stuff. And those two just jacked the price up to $14.97 a pop, which I cannot pull the trigger on. I've seen lots of Batman & Power Girl hanging there.

Since I only buy 1 or 2 figures from any particular DC wave, I have better luck trading with others on the boards. I got the new regular version of Spectre loose just last week. I did go to ebay for Dr Mid-Nite though. But it was a decent price with low shipping.

I haven't seen a DCU in stores since wave 1. I'm sure people are tired of me saying that by now. I don't know how Mattel makes money.
I even went to a Mattel outlet today. It took me an hour to drive there. They didn't have any either.
I did get this great Supergirl Barbie.

I had trouble finding classic Aquaman when his wave was first released. It was well into the next wave when I found one. I also NEVER saw Sinestro in his corps outfit, either Deathstroke or Amazo. I ended up trading for the mask-less Deathstroke and bought Amazo and Sinestro at FX. Waves 8 and 9 have been the worst for me. I'm missing Green Arrow and both Mantis versions and Gentleman Ghost, Hawkgirl, Dr. Fate and the red Parademon. None of whom I've seen in the stores. Surpringly I've seen all of wave 10 in Walmart at one time or another. I've seen all of wave 11 except both versions of Deadman and Cyborg Superman. I don't mind going 2-3 times a week to Walmart, Target or TRU but at least reward me for my efforts sometimes.

I've never seen any of wave 8 or 9. I did manage to get a Steppenwolf from wave 11, but I've yet to see any others. I did get all of Wave 10, but I had a hard time getting the Joker.

The ones I found from Waves 8 and 9 I found at different Meijer's stores on a trip to Michigan in October. We don't have Meijer's in Alabama. And the first 3 from Wave 10 I found at Walmart (on the way home from said trip) was Batman, Joker and Power Girl. I haven't seen any of Wave 8 or 9 since.

I guess I should just decide to buy my Mattel Lex Luthor online now.

The two closest Meijer's to me seem to have quite carrying the line. The last figure I found at Meijer's was classic Sinestro.
