I'm really surprised to actually see that he will be coming out despite the rumors. Despite a few issues I have with the movie's plot the 8th doctor wasn't a problem. Sadly I have yet to buy any of the doctor who figures due to the costs involved.

I just had a thought ..... How could a toy company easily get the rights to make an 8th Doctor action figure but the movie itself still cannot be released in the United States because of various companies bickering of who owns the rights to it ?

Merchandising rights (photos, books, toys) and dvd home video rights are separate (so are broadcasting rights hence I have a copy from Starz showing it) also technically Chracter options markets to the UK where the dvd rights are not in contenction and it's product is imported here

The 11 Doctor set is definately coming out. Check the forums at Whona.com. They have been talking about it for some time and it was leaked it will happen.

The prototype does look good. Regardless of who owns what with the tv
movie the character The Doctor belongs only to the BBC.
