Some of those animated Iron Mans got pretty bad.

Nothing like forgetting about Mego's on a Mego board. He's still the best production toy figure.

I think how they did him was pretty ingenious but I couldnt get past the face

It seemed pretty out of character for Mego to make all new boots, gloves, and a belt just for one guy who wasnt even one of the well known ones by the public. The detail of the shoulder rims was a nice touch.

Should be Secret Wars objectively. lack of articulation, no real "action" features.

However I'm going to give it a "pass" because it's one of the most accurate toy depictions of the "Classic" iconic 70's armor that we all grew up with and love. Even Mego didn't come anywhere near looking like the comic book character.

Once again, I'm going to have to default to the 10" Toy Biz repaint brigade.

I have no idea what that blue and translucent Space Armour repaint is supposed to be, but it is a massive FAIL. Cheap Money Grab.

Runner up for worst. From the Good Intentions, Bad Execution School... the Jim Lee Armour, which simply doesn't "feel" like Iron Man.

That was a beaut. Best use of vac metallic finish I've ever seen, along with the ball jointed Silver Surfer.

It's a tie beween the old mego IM and the ML modern armor (brown) version from a few years ago. Secondly is the secret wars version.


The heroes reborn version is the worst but I didn't like the fact that he was the first ML Iron Man that did not have a removable mask. That's hasbro for you.

At first, I was going to say the Mego was the worst. Upon further consideration I quickly changed my mind. While Mego's Ironman head left a lot to be desired, the over all look does not deserve said title.

Setting aside articulation.., yes, the Secret Wars Ironman looks pretty darn good, MOC or just standing on a shelf..!

A tie would be the FC Ironman ~ Helmet could have been a bit better, but still darn nice. Probably the best FC rendition, or at least tied for first place.

I have no interest in the current movie figures.

Yes, the nose was a regrettable mistake by Marvel, but Mego was just following the comic at an unfortunate juncture in time.

Balancing my nostalgic love of Mego Iron Man, I still recall as a kid my reaction when seeing him. It looked like he was wearing face-paint and not a helmet and Armour is not made of cloth.

However I think I was more upset that the Thing and Torch were wearing patterned leotards instead of being made of rock and looking like he was on fire respectively.

This movie Tony Stark is pretty cool as an "Alter Ego" figure (it's way better than the one with him in the suit and sunglasses.

personaly, I love the Mego version of Iron Man. He is one of the most accurate Megos made, ( for the characters appearance at the time.
Shell head had the nose when i started reading him as a kid, and appeared in his own mag, Avengers, Two in One, Marvel team-up, and Marvel tales, all with the nose.
And as you can see from the number of titles he was in, he was definitely a well known character TrueDave.
