    Zod arrives on Houston! Pics!

    Is he perfect? No.

Does he compare to the Hot Toys figures? No.

    Is he worth $60? Yes!

I like him! He's very obviously Terrence Stamp, and his costume design is accurate. The marron is much deeper in person than the prototype pics. Maybe still a bit too red, but it doesn't honestly hurt the figure. It screams "ZOD!".

As you can see, he's actually in scale with the 12 1/2 Mego figures, which surprised me. I guess most of the current 1/6th scale stuff is going a bit larger. I didn't bother with pics of the DCD 13", as they dwarf everyone.

His extra hands are cool, but the guns seem a bit out of scale. The stand is sturdy and well-made, but the fixture that is supposed to attach to his waist seems way too small. I got it on him in the first pic, but I was afraid I was going to hurt the red pleather, so I put it around his leg to display him flying.

The box is a great design, but a pain to get the the figure out of! I had to work for quite a while to do it without cutting the blister tray (which he rests in and is glued to the backer).

If you are fan of the character and the Superman films, I highly recommend him. I can't wait till Mattel officially announces the Superman figure!

Thanks for posting the pics! I got mine yesterday, too, and was pleasantly surprised. I still think $60 is a little steep for this, but I'm glad I got him. The red's a lot less intense than in the prototype pics.

I hope they do Ursa and Non!

I'll try and post some bigger pics later. I was trying to save space in my gallery by making a collage, but I guess I exceeded the physical size, and the software shrank it.

I swear, this has never happened to me before!

Hmmmm. Makes me want to put a touch of crimson in my black outlines on my Zod custom.

Then again...I don't care for how they did it when I look at it up close here.
