    Do you LOVE bootlegs?

I've left the country a few times just to go backpacking or to teach English for a little while. In Australia theres an action figure specialty shop in every mall, but strangely all they seemed to carry was the chase figures like Indiana Kermit.

What I LOVE is the goodies I found in the 2nd world countries. I love the cheap blowmolded header bagged batmans , or the pack of five identical spidermans with little red lights in thier chest ( but in different colors like the power rangers)

I was looking on ebay and I think my next packpacking trip will be further south to Argentina to see all those goodies.

And I will say the ONE time I ever saw a Lou Ferrigno Hulk it was a bootleg. It was metallic green and I think it had slippers sculpted on.

    Do you love bootlegs?

Oh yes! Quite a bunch, do I enjoy the wild bootlegs! It represents so much that I admire about the human animal, and it is simultaneously often very bad (which only adds more charming flavor). It takes a bit of getting used to. Like beer.

I LOVE BOOTLEGS! I am always searching through eBay in an attempt to try and locate something to add to my collection.

I am going to Puerto Rico next week but next year I am going to Columbia. If anyone wants me took look for something let me know. I am always looking for Superman "Bootleg" or "Knockoff" toys still in thier package.

I only ask that if you pick up something and want to later sell it, give me first crack at it or let me know about your eBay auction.

depends. if it is unique and cool looking then absolutely. If not, chances are I would not want it....there were some cool looking bootlegs of Star Was figures, I think from Argentina that I at one time wanted...but that was before I got back into Mego collecting

I collect all Superman related items... including the bootlegs if I can lay hands on them.

In fact, my husband and I refer to them as "Just-As-Goods", as in when you're a little kid and you ask Santa for a He-Man figure, and your Aunt or Grandmother goes out and buys you a Remco He-Man like figure, because it's "Just as good" and cheaper.

We like to say when walking through a store's cheapy toy section, "Oh look, a GI Joe 'Just-as-good', why, little Billy won't notice it only cost me a buck, he'll be so hopped up on soda and cake to notice!"

Guess what Aunt Susy, little Billy WILL notice, and you'll be put on "The List" of cheapskate relatives and when you get old and you need Depends, little Billy will go to the store and buy you a Hefty bag and duct tape!

Thought you were talking about albums at first.. I have a '79 Wings concert bootleg with a COOL cover. Just had my wife get Laurence Juber sign it for me, since he came to Milwaukee for a workshop and I was training at Fort Lewis..

Figures..? I just had the 'Hombre' Joe knockoff as a kid. Basically just wanted to get his accessories since they were cheaper than Joe stuff.

If they're really badly done and cheap, yes!

I'll definitely pick them up and display them proudly!

I like some, but I don't actively go hunting for them.

I would love to have a few g1 TF bootlegs but the prices are a bit steep at the moment. I'm particularly watching out for the casseates.
