Top 13 Retro Superhero Toys of 2025

Over at 13th Dimension I continued a now annual tradition of ranking my personal favorite retro-themed super hero toys of the year. Your mileage may vary, but there's no denying toy companies know what we like, and want our money! From the obscure to the the obvious, there were some great figures and other toys released last year that tickle that nostalgia bone, and here are 13 of them (plus a few who just barely missed the cut).

What a wonderful article. It's funny, but the Warbow figure is one I am not familiar with. I thought it was a new version of the Radioactive Man! Hahahaha.

I actually saw it at the comic shop this week.

Very enjoyable read, I actually have the Superman vs Captain Thunder comic book, and well being a Shazam Captain Marvel fan, Thunder although cool, really doesn’t do it for me, kind of like a cheap ripoff and notice the lightning bolt on his belt too. Now in saying all that, if I do ever find this figure, I’ll be buying it.

I also really like Ace the Bat Hound, to bad I couldn’t get that separately, would make a good Sherlock Holmes Hound of the Baskervilles display.

I tend to avoid the McF 7" figures, but the Joker is excellent. I do plan to get the SF Aquaman though.

I have ROM and am awaiting Warbow. He looks great. I hope they do the whole Crystar line of 7 figures.

It's a great list, Chris, thanks for sharing. That Mezco Cap is superb.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Thanks folks! It's always fun to do these, but a bit challenging too, because there's so much good stuff out there aimed at our generation of collectors.

Great article and nice line up of toys. Hate looking at these since dont want to be tempted at getting other new toys. Have enought with just the Mego type figures. no room for anything more.

This is like heroine to an addict !
