Upcoming Barbies for 2010

Got a catalog in the mail showcasing some of the new Pop Culture Barbies for 2010.....

Debbie Harry (Blondie)
Joan Jett
Charlie's Angels (Kelly-sized)
James Bond: Honey Rider (Dr. No), ***** Galore (Goldfinger), Jinx (Day Another Die)
Barbra Streisand
Heidi Klum

They all look great but those Bond ones are awesome. I doubt that the name "***** Galore" will be plastered all over her packaging though. Seems like they're pushing the Goldfinger name.

Miss Galore is now shipping, and yes, they are pushing the Goldfinger name. Cindy saw actual release pics, and she looks quite nice! I wonder if they'll make Holly Goodhead at some point?

According to the all-Barbie-knowing Cindy, Barbara Streisand and Heidi Klum are also out.

I joked with her that the Jacklyn Smith Kelly would only be available at K-Mart.

I'm probably gonna get the Blondie one and maybe one of the Bond Girls. But no James Bond Ken? Wha!? They finally had a chance to make a decent Ken and totally drop the ball. Mattel just can't have a Ken that's not a cringe worthy embarassment I guess. That's Mattel for you.

They made a James Bond/Ken a few years back. He was non-specific to any actor, and came with a generic Bond-Girl Barbie.

I was telling my wife they should have made Deborah Harry in her "Heart of Glass" video gray dress, that's more well-known. But I guess this outfit is from their debut album.

And yeah, I know Barbie. I got a house full of it. My wife got into them because I kept dragging her down the toy aisles every time we went out when we were dating, and she thought, "what the hey?"
