    Hasbro Not Making ActionFigures Anymore?

The short answer is that Hasbro will hold licenses and rent out the rights to make their figures. Not the worst thing I guess?

They just renewed their deal with Disney for Marvel and Star Wars. So they're still making figures. But i guess this is about them licensing out their own IPs..? Which they've been doing already.

Yeah there was a news story about this around a year ago as well. Basically they're trying to be more of an IP company than a toy company, but they're still going to produce tons of toys, they just aren't going to handle everything moving forward because they've grown to the point where they can make more money having other people make their toys. Playmates is doing the Power Rangers toys moving forward as an example.

Maybe eventually they'll farm out Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers and GI Joe to another company, but it seems like it isn't happening anytime soon.

Obviously with TFs and Joe they already let other companies make variations of those figures.
