Comparing: Super Powers Robin

Since the new McFarlane Robin is popping up it time to compare him with the original Kenner Robin:

Kenner Robin has the "scales" on his green tunic while the Mcf does not.

Both have the Karate hand so that's nice.

K.R. has his collar done in yellow while the M.R. does not. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

There about the same size but M.R. head is a little larger.

K.R has the college hair do while M.R. has his youth classic hair.

K.R. has the short cape while M.R. has long cape.

Overall it's a nice redo of the original with enough changes to tell them apart.

Yeah, it is weird they left off the scales of the shorts (maybe for parts re-use?) and the unpainted collar isn't great. It's nice but I still prefer the Kenner sculpt.

I think they both look fine, the red collar doesn’t really bother me, you could always paint it if you wanted.
I do favor the Kenner figure more, I like the shorter cape better and the tunic is shorter.

I like the M.R. better overall, especially head sculp.

I like the new figure for what it is, the hair reminds me of Mego. The collar is a shame though, and I'm trimming the cape.

I like the new figure, but I've always felt the original Kenner Robin was one of the nicest looking figures in the Super Powers line.

The collar thing is weird, since they could have given him a collar on the cloth cape like they did Hourman. The lack of scales on teh shorts was noticable too.

I do like the headsculpt, and the serious look fits that this is intended to be the post-Crisis Jason Todd as described on the file card on the back. Watch the wheels on your Batmobiles!

One of the reasons why the MR doesn't have the fish scales they could be used to make Deadman in the next wave.
