    The new Masters of the universe movie has started filming.

    The long threatened live action MOTU movie has finally started filming for a June 2026 release. I'm actually a bit surprised. It's been in development hell for ages.

    It will more than likely be terrible, but I can't be bothered to be upset. The Michael Bay Transformers movies were god awful but still good for the Transformers hobby.

      I don't hate the casting beyond Jared Leto, who I think ruins everything. The fact that they are sticking with "sent to Earth then has to go back to Eternia" thing is so head-scratchingly insane because the only version of He-Man remotely like that was the PREVIOUS failed film. No lessons learned here.

      Maybe it will surprise and be fun. But I have no expectations for it either.

          Totally, it makes no sense.

          I know the 87 movie has become a cult classic over the years and I do have some affection for it. But if I am really honest, it's a not a great movie and it's an even worse MOTU adaption. I give the cast credit they tried their best. It's just too far removed from the source material, for me. I still feel the same as did as a kid where's Battle Cat, Orko, Mer-Man, Trap Jaw, etc. and why does everyone look so different and why is the movie on Earth!? I particularly dislike the Sorceress re-design. The white sack dress with the crystal head piece is just plain ugly and too far of a departure from the falcon design.

              At least Nicholas Galitzine bulked up for the role, and they have him in a pink shirt as Adam. Mimicking the famous meme for fun is a nice touch. The Power Sword looks spot on.



              I'm trying to be hopeful for this, but I still don't get the "set half of it on Earth thing".
