    Loyal Subjects Jem comparison pics

These are just starting to hit Walmart stores.

For starters, the quality is crazy high. At $24.99 you are getting what is basically a higher end collector doll at an affordable mass market toy doll price. The body is super articulated with double jointed elbows and knees, ankles, wrists, ab swivel, bicep and thigh swivel. The body is also noticeably quite heavy. Not the usual feather light hollow bodies on the market now. This absolutely shames those crazy expensive Integrity Jems in my opinion.

Accessories are the extra Jerrica fashion, comb, mic, stand with swap out mic clip, life size play concert ticket, lanyard with backstage pass and stickers shaped like a film strip. The stand does play a short clip of the Jem theme. The song is a cover which I'm not bothered or surprised by. It's a very nice sound alike and the rights issues for the songs from the cartoon are a mess. It's amazing they could do it at all.

The only downside is the Jerrica hat doesn't fit well. The elastic is a bit too tight, and it slides off the head. You have to just set it on top of the head. Also, the earrings do not light up but they are shaped like actual stars like on the cartoon.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

    Jerrica.

I love the bright pink hair and the head sculpt is very sweet and pretty looking.

The gimmick of the original Jem/Jerrica switch was the doll was supposed to have two layers of hair. One pink and a shorter blond layer underneath. In theory you were supposed to be able to tuck the pink hair under the Jerrica hat only leaving the blond hair showing. This didn't really work because the doll's hair was rooted fairly sparsely and there really wasn't that much actually colored pink.

I forgot to mention, they finally got her face make up right. It actually looks like cartoon. First Jem doll to get it right.

If the Jem, Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite toys are any indication, MASK fans are going to be for a real treat. Oh! and the Loyal Subjects My Buddy dolls are also starting to hit Walmart stores.

That really looks nice, especially at that price point! Puts to shame what some of these other companies (who are just as big if not bigger than Loyal Subjects) are charging for what amounts to a Happy Meal toy.

Cindy LOVES their Strawberry Shortcake line. She still has her My Buddy, but she's interested in seeing what the new one looks like in person. I can't wait for M.A.S.K.

Sorry to go for the low hanging fruit, but those look... truly outrageous!

Loyal Subjects clearly has a lot of love for these '80s properties they are reviving and it shows in their end products.

I recently got the Mattel Aurora and Maleficent collector doll 2 pack on sale. This was originally a $100 set and they are nice and you know I loves me some Disney Princess but they are not nearly as nice as this $25 Jem doll.

              Perfectly acceptable and accurate.

Out of curiosity I wanted to see if the original Jem fashion fit the new doll. I had an extra fashion to try and thought why not. As it turns out it does fit except for the shoes. Now, I can't guarantee if all Jem fashions fit. The carded fashions were notoriously ill fitting, and the tights were nightmarishly hard to put on back when they were new. But it's something you can try if you want to.

New Jem with original Jem outfit.

Cool. Now really looking forward to their MASK and ROM stuff coming. and wonder if they will be upgraded or a retro release.

I have checked 2/3 nearby Wal-Marts in my neck of the woods. Nothing thus far. I'm a fan of Christy Marx and enjoy her comic book work too. I hope the Misfits and others get made,
