Marvel Legends Secret Wars (Comic Book)

Marvel Legends Secret Wars AF wave 1.jpg

This lineup of Marvel Legends has me interested. I collected what I could of the original Secret Wars figures back in the 80's so seeing this I would love to get them but they would stay on their card for a long time.

    Captain America
    Iron Man
    Wolverine
    Spider-Man
    Beyonder (finally)
Titana (The first female in this lineup)

Nice mix of giving us the first four heroes (with Spidey in black) and two charactes important to the series, that Mattel never made. Love the secret shields being part of this, but they STILL didn't give Cap a proper shield! He has the broken one (comic accurate, I know) and the Secret Shield, which is all his 1984 Mattel figure came with, to the lament of a generation! This Cap is very similar to the ML 20th Anniversary figure from a few years ago, and he had a nice shield...but it had holes to add effects, so again, no regular shield!

Also, it's kinda weird they followed Mattel in giving Iron Man a secret shield insert with Tony Stark, when Rhodey was Iron Man in the comic series.

But niggles aside, these are great, and I'm glad to see the old line get some love.

Yeah, the Mattel Iron Man figure came with Tony on the shield but, listed Rhodes as his alias on the back of the card. A fun callback to that mixup would've been having this figure come with a Stark and Rhodey head.
I think I will be passing on these, ive already piecemealed most of this lineup with ML releases from the last few years. And between owning some of the original figures carded and loose and the Gentle Giant jumbo & bobblehead recreations, the novelty of having figures on those cards just isn't there for me anymore. But, its very cool it exists. Once they come out, I will probably track down a loose Iron Man shield and gun.
