    Big Bad Toy Store

What are your experiences dealing with them? I see they have a nice site and they have been around for a while and I am not sure if they are affiliated with TOYCOLLECTR magazine?

It seems they get a lot of scoops when it comes to new product that is up and coming.

Anyway comments, monologues, Short stories, Rosaries, Haiku's, declarations, Caterwauling's and tributes are most welcome.

    Cheers!!!

Honestly, I’m kinda shocked to find anyone who collects toys/figures who is unfamiliar with BBTS.
They’ve been around for ages; I’ve been using them regularly since I first got internet access. Solid, dependable, secure packaging, great variety of items. Hard to imagine anyone would anything negative to say about them.

I've been buying from BBTS for years and have never had a problem. I was using Entertainment Earth prior and while I was mostly satisfied with them, I moved onto BBTS because the shipping costs are more reasonable.

My last EE order that comes to mind had an Origin Skeletor arrive damaged. It took forever for a replacement as EE did not set aside any for situations like mine. Instead, they were at the mercy of Mattel either getting another shipment to them. Plus EE charged a tremendous amount of shipping for the single item, and when I complained an EE rep stated it was due to being a lump shipping sum from the multiple preorders that I placed an order on. I was assured I would not get charged shipping again for the items arriving later. But it was crazy to get billed whatever it was, $24 or $40 for shipping on a single item that arrived.

          Well..

I have seen ads for big bad, but I never purchased anything from them

And as a toy collector, I would NOT expect to find a 1966 IDEAL Justice League Playset or a 1965 Terrytoons MUSKIE Soaky or a 1966 Mighty Comics Super Heroes Board game. On their site!

Usually it's PREVIEWS where I see what's NEW and I get it from the comic shop or eBay.

My curiosity with Big bad is the fact that there are so many AD's in Toycollectr, that makes me wonder if they OWN it

And this is where I am scratching my head about.

BBTS is great. Their pile of loot feature to combine for cheap shipping is a life saver and sometimes I buy stuff just knowing I can use that and shave the price down, so I can justify the purchase.

Not sure if they are involved with Toy Collector, but they may just be supporting the mag and buying advertisting in it. Either way, Toy Collector seems to be run by some agreeable folks, so I don't see a conflict.

I have ordered from BBTS for many years now and never ever had an issue with anything I ordered. Nowadays though things sell out fast like Mcfarlane preorders But I can't recommend them enough as an e-tailer. And have $4 flat rate shipping. I echo about EE and their crazy shipping as well.

Longtime BBTS customer. If I had any complaints, it is that their prices are sometimes higher than other e-tailers, but it's worth it for the phenomenal service and the Pile of Loot service. And super, super reasonable shipping cost.

Wow. What an overwhelming response! Maybe, I will get the crowbar and pry my wallet open and buy something.

                    Will see.

Something I didnt seem mentioned here was BBTS' customer service, which is pretty excellent. Very prompt replies and a stress-free process overall.

As far as EE shipping, it used to be $49 qualified for free shipping but, it ramped up from that pretty quickly from $59 then now to $79. I have a theory too that people (myself included) were placing orders for super 7 ultimates one at a time and that made them change the free shipping threshold.
I rarely use them these days.

Beating a dead horse here, but BBTS is basically THE online toy store. Their only real competitor would be Entertainment Earth and I think BBTS is bigger/more respected in the toy community.

BBTS is expanding in recent years, basically working with small companies to fund/create toy lines and they may be helping out with the magazine (or simply buying a lot of ad space to help them out) but are generally pretty good. I believe their "pile of loot" function which some other companies now do, pretty much was what helped separate them from the pack and move to #1.

I've never had any issue with them, they're generally quite good.
