These are just starting to hit Walmart stores. Only Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake and Strawberry Shortcake with Bake shoppe are currently out.

At $12.99 these new dolls are an absolute bargain. You get a fully articulated doll with a real fabric outfit and tights and good number of accessories. There's nothing close to that quality in the market right now at this price range. The hair is really nice. It's not that really cheap gummy stuff you find so often today. Very soft and silky.

Strawberry Shortcake comes with four surprise accessories. Looks like you are guaranteed Custard and the little berry comb and the others which are the strawberry purse, lunch box, basket of strawberries and a strawberry shortcake are random. I bought two to get all the accessories. You also get a little sticker sheet.

My wife Cindy had these on pre-order but found them at a Walmart on the road and bought the standard Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite for quite a bit cheaper. I picked up the baking set for her yesterday at a nearby Walmart. She loves them, and I agree, the value is incredible in today's market. I'm not sure she know about the extra accessories, as she hasn't decided if she wants to open them yet. She's a Barbie collector primiarily, and she's hardwared to keep stuff MIP . ;-)

I've been searching Five Below for her for the small Strawberry Shortcake figurines, but I only found some variants a while back, which she told me to pass on. Now she regrets that, as these things must sell out the minute they hit the shelves. I did luck into a set of Rainbow Brite small figurines around Christmastime for her.

Yeah, those are a real pain to hunt down. I'm hoping they will eventually release multi-packs of the figures.

I forgot to mention before, the new dolls are scented. But it's kind of faint. Not anywhere as strong as the original dolls.

Cindy was disappointed to find her Strawberry Shortcake figure didn't come with the lunchbox. She had a similar lunchbox as a kid, so now we're looking for another figure, and they have sold out around here. The hunt continues...

Pretty sure my wife and I bought reissues a couple years back, is this yet another company doing it? I can't recall the company...I just remember we were buying them at Target. I don't think a Purple Pieman was made by the company when we were buying SS years back.
