    MechaGodzilla 1974 Figure Review

All week long it's Japanese Monster Week and I'm going to be looking at a ton of Japanese Monster figures, toys, movies and much more. Up first though is my latest Japanese Monster figure, the 1974 version of MechaGodzilla from Bandai Creations. This guy just hit the shelves a while back and can still be found at most Toys R Us locations.

Be sure to check out the full review and later today I'll be checking back in with a review of a bootleg version of MechaGodzilla 1974 that I got decades ago and can not be found at your local TRU locations without usage of a TARDIS or Mr.Fusion.

Infinite Hollywood: Japanese Monster Week - MechaGodzilla 1974

    Thanks for reading.

Good review and I look forward to more of this, but is it me or does Mechagodzilla look a bit fat? It's been a while since I saw the movie, but I can't remember him being fat. Got it on DVD, time to watch it again.
That bootleg looks pretty cool too

      Mechagodzilla is my favourite Kaiju.
It was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw, and it kind of stuck.
I like its looks, rather "clunky", with all those rivets.
About him looking fat: after 35 years, some of those rivets must have rusted out, and his torso is falling apart.
      That's my theory.

      Good figure, btw.
Wish I a Toys R Us in my country!
      I'd pick one up....

Good review, and I actually have that bootleg MG, too.
Rathing missing in details and paint application, but I still like him....

I actually think he's fairly lean but he does have a bit of a barrel chest. Which I feel is pretty accurate.

With age, that lower torso always gives way to gravity.

Man, I ate too much pizza again....

Yeah, I have the 1974 version of this and it's a kickbutt toy. Lots of diecast pieces on him, so he's nice and heavy. Great detail too.

But my favourite Mecha Godzilla toy is the large missile firing vinyl one made by Bullmark in the 1970s. He's extremely rare and expensive though, especially boxed, so I probably won't get one anytime soon.

              Here's a loose one that's very overpriced:
