I bought a Dinoco Blue Lighting McQueen that came with a Piston Cup Trophy and was going to give it to my son to play with. Then I saw on the package it says "chase." Does anyone collect these? Would this really be worth something to save or can I let the kid have his fun? (By the way he doesn't know I got it yet, so it's not like I'm taking it away from him or anything). my first choice would be to let the kid have fun.

Look it up on ebay.
Some of these go for a little cash..., I bought my Nephew a Ramone "chase" ... But when I looked it up,.. it wasn't fetching much.

I was seeing asking prices around $8. Not much more than the $4 and change that I got it for. I was thinking more or less what it might be a few years from now, but I never usually buy a toy because it might someday be worth somethin' so why start now?
I usually keep a toy in the package if I like it to look at and how it comes with the package or I want to have one to look nice and I buy a second for the kids to play with (like EMCE Gorn). Lightning McQueen don't do that much for me.

I must confess..., Buying a couple of those for the Kiddies,.. I ended up having a few for myself. I got Mater,.. the Stoner School Bus,.. & a couple of others. The 1st issue General Dude,.. & a Couple of others fetch some coin, because they had Led in them & were recalled.

The line is still going very, very strong. Lots of people collect them.

My son loves these, and I tend to buy them for him, but I don't really now anything more than I'll buy whatever he picks out.
